And the winner of act 1 is ... Ambessa! π π Aside the abduction of her daughter she accomplished everything as she planned it. About the facial expressions: I watched maybe 20 or 30 reactors and read several hundred comments, watched a lot of analysis videos and so far yes, you're the only one who ever mentioned that. Of course I don't know what else is out there, maybe there are some others who see it your way. For me it is actually the opposite. Facial expression and voice acting compliment each other. I don't see any lacking in quality compared to season 1, I can read so much in the facial expression of a character, just by a slight twitch of a lip or a flicker in an eye. I think it is extremely impressive what they done with the mimic art...π Here's a thought: Maybe it is an acting choice that gives you this impression? Fortiche (who made the animations) is a french studio and european acting schools teach a different style of film acting than american schools. European acting is often much more subtle and taken back. It could come across as a little wooden for an american viewer who is used to the larger-than-life acting of hollywood movies (especially when it comes to the expression of emotions)...π€π On another topic: Did I really hear you say "ScheiΓe!" two times? Where does that surprising german loan word come from? ππ Anyway, loved your reaction and can't wait for the next one...π

2025-07-22 07:31:16 +0000 UTCThe colored smoke was the gray - smog from the undercity dyed different colors. When Jinx set it up to vent to the surface you could see canisters of colored gas release into the gray to color it. The fight between Jinx and Vi was in a Temple of Jana, the "whispy wind woman" Jinx mentioned from Vander's bedtime stories. She decorated the temple with images from their childhood and lured Vi and Cait there for a showdown. IMO, Jinx intended to either kill Vi, or die and the Sevika would set off the gas release as a colorful sendoff after Jinx's death. There's a brief moment when Sevika sets it off that Jinx yells, "No, that's not the way..." as if she's protesting that wasn't how she planned for it to end. I think she walked into that temple planning not to walk out again. It's also why she told Vi to go ahead and kill her when Vi pinned her down. She felt it was fitting that Vi be the one to kill her. She was willing to let Vi kill her until Isha stepped in to protect her.
