Each source novel tends to lean towards a specific genre. The first book is a noir detective story, the second a political thriller, and the third leans into action-thriller territory. Some people have speculated that the fast pacing was due to SyFy canceling the show, but that actually happened later. By the time the cancellation was announced, the season was already well into production and all the episodes had been written. So, the quicker pace was simply a creative decision to match the source material. The Belter kid you didnβt recognize is Diogo Harari. He was first caught by Miller on Ceres for stealing water and later got thrown out of his uncleβs ship into space. After that, he joined the OPA, took part in the station raid with Miller, and helped deliver the bombs to Eros. Later, Dawes used him to uncover Fred Johnsonβs secret on Tycho and to help abduct the protomolecule scientist. Also, just a small reminder that Miller left his fedora behind on Ceres before heading to Eros, where he met up with the Roci crew.
