Season Four Updates and Announcements

Hello!

Aside from some brief downtime for a vacation and a bout with COVID-19, season four production is moving along. We have fully-produced thirteen Suikoden episodes, covering through the Milich Oppenheimer section of the game.

Despite my memory telling me that the first Suikoden was a bit dry, we're finding that the game has a ton of personality between the seams (or maybe we're projecting). We are expecting Suikoden to wrap up in about 20-22 episodes before moving on to Suikoden II. Season four launches for early access patrons on May 16th, 2022.

As production continues, please stop by the RealNet sessions and join the fun if you can. We livestream our recording sessions and interact with the chat at the end of each episode. The details and times are announced on Discord in advance.

This season's bonus shows ($3) will cover the visual novel style Suikogaiden games, both which were fan translated in 2013. Gensō Suikogaiden Volume 1: Swordsman of Harmonia takes place during Suikoden II. Gensō Suikogaiden Volume 2: Duel at Crystal Valley takes place after the conclusion of Suikoden II's story.

Given where these take place in the timeline, we won't be able to get for them for a bit, so we're working on coming up with some other ideas for Suikoden bonus episodes that could be produced a bit earlier in the season. This could mean we would do a "wifecast" and a character tournament for the first Suikoden. We also have a few other yet-to-be-revealed secrets that we'll share during the next season.

We still have two Final Fantasy VIII bonus episodes to release! The Final Fantasy VIII Character Tournament will be released on April 27th, and Explain Final Fantasy VIII to Normal People will be released on May 11th. Please look forward to it!

No news on the next $5 miniseries, but there will be one produced at some point during season four. More to come!
