Nominations for the Next Minipod
Added 2020-10-23 14:10:16 +0000 UTCOur Terranigma series is now halfway complete. Now, it's time to begin thinking about what game we want to feature for our next minipod. Terranigma was a bit of deep cut for some folks. We picked it on a whim!
This time around, we're throwing out some non-binding criteria to consider for this nomination process:
Genre: The game, of course, should be a retro JRPG (action or turn based). We don't have a strict definition of retro, but we'd like to stick to the PS2/Xbox/Wii generation or earlier for this minipod. The game should have enough story content to facilitate a podcast in our format.
Length: The game should be approximately 20 hours long or less. This is not an absolute, but in general, the main story element from the game's howlongtobeat.com page should be somewhere in the vicinity.
Accessibility: This time around, we'd like to account for a few measures of accessibility. Is it is easy to find and play on modern platforms? If not, is it easy to emulate or put on a mini-console? Enhanced remakes and ports of classics are fair game!
Relevance: The game should be relevant and influential to the greater JRPG canon. That is to say that people who dabble in the genre should have heard of it.
