As of September 7, Retrograde Amnesia is now part of the Greenlit Podcast Network.
The Greenlit Podcast Network is a coalition of creator-owned podcasts that have teamed up to elevate their content and extend their reach by working together under the banner of Greenlit Content. Collectively boasting more than a quarter-million downloads per month, the shows in the Greenlit Podcast Network are specifically focused on video gaming, entertainment, and pop culture. From classic gaming to the hottest new releases, from biblical history to Hollywood events, there’s something here for everyone… if you’re into that sort of thing.
For patrons of the show, this doesn't mean much, other than the fact that you'll hear us mention the network from time to time in future podcasts. This network of podcasts cross promotes its member shows, so if you listen to the free feed, you will hear some midroll promos on each episode. The Patreon feed will remain promo/ad free. We, of course, still own 100% of our content.
Why are we doing this? Primarily to enhance exposure and cast a wider net towards potential new listeners. This network includes several shows that are much bigger than ours, like the internet's oldest retro gaming podcast, Retronauts – so this gives us an an opportunity to pitch our show to a larger audience on shows with similar topics. Also, it'll be kind of cool to hear our podcast promoted on a show that we've both been listening to for years.
The audience that we already have (you) has been a tremendous motivator for us. The fact that we were able to pitch our podcast to the network by saying, "hey, look at all these people who like our podcast" gave us a ton of confidence that we could land a slot on the network.
We offer our deepest thanks for this motivation. Networks don't always make sense for podcasts, but in this case, the fit seems perfect for us, and you all helped make it possible. Thank you.
