It's May and here's what is up with us.

Hello there! Thank you for your continued support and welcome to all of the new folks that have joined us this month.

For those unaware, we have a Discord server. You can join by linking your Discord account to your Patreon account in the settings. You will automatically be added to the Discord server at that point. We stream our recording sessions live here, so you can join the conversation if you'd like. We implemented this starting with episode 40, so in a few weeks you'll begin to hear the contributions from the Real Net!

We have completed recording the Xenogears series. The series will ultimately run 55 episodes. There's still some behind-the-scenes work to do on the episodes, but we are really looking forward to sharing them with everyone. Thanks to everyone who's taken the ride with us. It's been tremendous.

But it's not really over. We've taken a bit of time to decompress, but next up, we're working on finishing the remaining episodes of the Perfect Works Miniseries. The remaining sections that we still have to cover Monster, Geography, Science, Gear, Character, and any other miscellaneous items that are worth covering. 

We also have some interesting bonus episodes in the works, and we plan to keep making them for the duration of the Xenogears run. First up, is a throughout exegesis of the game's anime intro, discussing what we missed, what we can learn, and the answers the game provides for us right up front.

The Next Miniseries. The second Patreon miniseries will cover Terranigma. We're going to start recording that as soon as the Perfect Works stuff is done. The plan is to release them as we complete them. More to come!

And then, Chrono Cross. As you are likely aware, Chrono Cross will be our next full series. It beat Xenosaga in an extremely narrow vote earlier this month. We'll announce when we're going to start recording the episodes, but it's been great to hear that so many of you plan to play along with us. 

Chrono Cross has a little Xenogears DNA, but from what I remember all those years ago, it felt thematically disjointed at times. Other times, it had moments that felt ground-swelling and important. Either way, t's still always been a game that I've held in high esteem all these years later, and the thought of taking a deep-dive into it with this podcast fills me with excitement. As it was with Xenogears, the answering the question, "is this thing that was once important to me still important to me?" is a journey, and we're looking forward to taking it again.
