Here's what we're working on this month.

Salutations! Thanks for supporting us. Here's a quick update on how things are going behind the scenes.

Weekly show progress: We've recorded conversations up to the final battle of disc 1. We're going to need another couple of episodes to unpack the subsequent scenes, so we suspect disc 1 will end around episode 39. We seriously have no idea how disc 2 is going to go, but we're certainly (and oddly) excited about the pace change and how it's going to impact the podcast,

Your cash: We decided not to invest in the Descript (transcription) software. Instead of investing in a service, we're going to continue to use a combination of Audacity, Reaper, and Izotope's plugins to the produce the show. A lot of the "hand editing" that Eric does gives the show its personality, so we want to retain that with our current workflow.

Instead, we've invested in in two Rode NT1A microphones (about $200 each) and an audio interface (about $125). This grants us the power to record multitrack and work towards a crisper sound. It also works out because a Blue Yeti suddenly died on us a few weeks ago.

Bonus & Miniseries updates: This month's Time of the Bonus will be a complete character study on Citan Uzuki. Thanks to our friend Seth (Who Talks Too Much) who has provided us some interesting analysis of Citan's personality, we'll have a complete conversation about his arc, motivations, naming conventions, and influences.

For the Perfect Works miniseries, we'll be following up the audiobook reading with another to round out the History chapter sometime within the next week or so.
