Progress Updates & Behind the Scenes

Hello! Thanks again for your continued patronage. Here's a few behind the scenes updates of where we are at with the production of the show.

Where we're at with the weekly show:
As of today, we've recorded content for 22 episodes of the weekly show. Many of these are still going through the production and editing process, but we're really happy with where we are in the overall process. These episodes take us through the introductory chapters with Billy. In terms of chapter count, this is roughly halfway through the game. But, if you've played Xenogears before, you know that the longer the game goes, the denser the plot becomes. 

So, while we're averaging one or two chapters per episode, it's impossible to gauge how long it's going to take us to extrapolate the plot the deeper we go.  My best guess is that it will take 45 to 50 episodes to fully analyze the game, but...Disc 2 is a thing that's going to happen, so we'll see!

Where we're at with bonus episodes:
Our focus for the bonus episodes is twofold: developing ideas for shows we can create before we finish the game and developing ideas for shows we can do after we finish the game. Some of the more in-depth discussions are going to require a complete knowledge of the game, so we'll let you know when we get there.

As of now, here are a few ideas we are workshopping (subject to change). 

• A Definite Ranking of Non-Portrait Characters in Xenogears
• Citan as Satan
• Psychoanalytical Themes in Xenogears (Freud/Jung/etc)
• Gnostic Themes in Xenogears

What we're doing next:
We've got quite a long trudge before Xenogears is complete, but it's never too early to map out the next phase of this show. Here's few things we're thinking about:

• Are we a Xeno-specific podcast, are we a JRPG-specific podcast, or are we a retro-JRPG-specific podcast?
• When we open up the polls to pick our Season 2 game, what games do we want to have on the list?
