Giant's Sandbox Alpha 0.0.4 "Cleo" -Release-

Wow. Remember how I said it would take about 2 hours to upload? Turns out the packaged build was a little bigger than expected and additionally I thought it would be a great idea to have both 32-bit bit and 64-bit versions. So I'm roughly looking at 2.5 GB which took 6+ something hours to upload in total, yey. It's only getting bigger from here on out.

Anyway, it's uploaded and here are your links. This time however, I've tried something different, seeing as a few people had issues with the packaged files from my mini-game last time, I decided to make them self extracting archives. No need for any other software to unpack it. I'm curious to see if that'll work out any better.

There's a readme file included that you might want to give a look.

Now for the actual upates on the game:

- Cleo is now playable in Giant's Sandbox and she comes with 9 outfits in total.

- Implemented the Endless Rampage mini-game, which is compatible with all the models. It can be selected from the level select screen.

- Early version of a new map called Giant House. It's fairly emtpy as of right now but it gets the idea across pretty good. Also when I added a roof, lighting was all bad and weird, so no roof for now.

- New stomping mechanics implemented. You can now hold down the stomp button after the stomp to pin the micros underfoot. You can hold them there, stomp again or grind them a little, making them become stuck to your foot instantly.

- Speaking of stomping, while you're holding your foot up and take aim, you can now rotate in place with A and D or the left analog stick respectively. This was done to prevent the weird jerk towards where the camera was looking from before.

- And speaking of cameras, there are three views that you can switch through: Third person camera, a butt/hip cam and a ground view. All of them can be zoomed in and out individually and freely rotated around the character, even while stomping.

- If you get stomped or even stuck to a foot, you'll retain this state until you press jump.

- Levels can now be started without any predefined NPCs in them, in case you wanted to have an empty Stomp Pit for example.

- The ray gun (and spectator gun) now has a third option to remove characters.

- Besides all that there have been a number of bug fixes, optimizations and reworked mechanics. Like the inverted camera controls not saving or the a.i. wandering off way too far (now scales with the character's size).

I hope you'll enjoy this update and I'm looking forward to your feedback!

I'm also planning on the giants being able to pick up tinies, offering a small variety of interactions coming with that. Plus you can have gentle and evil giants.

Evil-Sprite

Obviously this would be a long term development goal, but are you going to implement more mechanics beyond the stomping one?

Happy to hear that you enjoy it <3

Evil-Sprite

This is definitely a great update, thank you for the update.
