Unpausing Tomorrow

October was a pause month so there were no charges/payments again (except for new people). That ends tomorrow, back to drawing.

You can see from the GIF I was working on my physics engine. This month I hooked it up to my mocap suit and VR. 11 years into the project and I finally get to see it in 3D... It feels good man. And hand tracking has obvious... Applications =) Needs a few months of work yet tho.

Pausing patreon to code for 6 months sure hurt my income this year. Fingers crossed it's worth it. ...Oh yeah thanks you guys for paying for my mocap suit. And all my stuff really. But especially the suit. It will be useful =3

Oh yeah think i saw this on 2 minute papers https://github.com/st-tech/ppf-contact-solver?tab=readme-ov-file alas their method has frame times measured in minutes, where as my budget is milliseconds. Idk if there's much i could take from this (and papers are always so obfuscated, hard to read). Thx tho

Just came across a paper you might like, though i don't know if it will help with your game dev: A Cubic Barrier with Elastic-Inclusive Dynamic Stiffness by Ryoichi Ando

Machina

Thanks! The aesthetic, lighting system, characters etc is all custom coded and modelled too. I'm aiming to take my art and put it in VR

It looks really good dude, I can't wait too try it out!

Wait who's going from games to art? I hear a lot of artists have day jobs like being a coder, and want to get into art full time, which is funny. But I thought game dev was the pie in the sky passion career not the day job.

Its funny in a way to me that you're going in the opposite progression I've seen other people go with this kind of work; from art to games instead of games to art.
