I have not heard a satisfactory explanation of Buffy feeling strong after her revival (and being able to resist The Master's hypnosis). Possibly a sudden psychological effect of facing death by The Master and now feeling invulnerable because she is not dead after all. Or maybe she received a boost of Slayer power when she was revived?

Vampire lore can be confusing because, although most of the rules come from the novel Dracula, every movie or show picks which of those rules they want to follow or may make up some of their own.
