Sex machine is in progress. I didn't expect it to take so long, but I want to make it cool and that takes time (as usual, suddenly). However I already finished with the design, made some animation tests and drawing progress is around ¾ for today. So it should come to beta next weekend.
And now let me share some insides with you.
As I said last week, constructing a cool sex machine appeared to be a challenge. I'd like it to look complicated, with many parts and an industrial look. So it required some investigation to make it more realistic.
The basic idea of such a device is that the engine rotates a wheel, the working rod (that's my own term, idk how this part is called IRL) is attached to it with some joint but is also limited to 1-dimensional movement, so the wheel rotation is converted to rod movement with something like f(t) = sin(t). The wheel might be changed to a rotating plank, any types of joints might be used, but the concept never changes. I guess gun-shaped devices may differ a bit, but I don't like that design for MyJLC.
Then there are numerous QoL-additions (quality of life):
The machinery should have some stand allowing the user to change angles and height, to be heavy enough to keep a stable position while in use.
All parts usually have multiple connection spots to control the moving parts length affecting the frictions’ speed and depth.
Obviously the remote control is required so the user can use the device solo.
For mass-market most of the parts are usually covered to make devices safe to use, however porn studios often remove the covers from those and use many DIY parts to create monstrous devices looking good on camera (and this is exactly what I want to achieve as well).
One more good idea is to make dildo-to-rod connection flexible (e.g. use springs), as in BDSM content the user is often bound, so hard connection might cause injuries if something goes wrong.
Double penetration machine is a bit more complicated and there are multiple ways to build it:
Add a splitter to the working rod allowing you to attach multiple toys at once. That's just boring as toys are always synced in this case, so it's not a true DP-machine at all.
Connect multiple rods to the same wheel. Each joint can be configured separately providing different speed and depth, which I guess feels good enough for the user. This design is the most popular on the market. Some manufacturers even add back side rods so 2 persons can enjoy the play simultaneously. The con is that all ends use 1 engine (which is the most expensive part), so are not really independent.
So an ultimate DP requires 2 rods, 2 wheels with their own joints and 2 engines which means.. 2 independent sex machines. Those can share the stand and have a single electronic control block for better usability.
I could theoretically go the 2nd way. However it requires a lot of patching for existing game components to (!) limit player so it looks and feels realistic. So the 3rd option seemed to be my way in the end.
The main problem when combining multiple machines into one was the layout. The most obvious one is vertical. To match the human anatomy both rods should be placed close to each other on a vertical line. However, rotating parts should not intersect and block each other, so we can leave enough space and make a kind of triangle from 2 devices. An updated version uses some tricky shaped joints allowing to put wheels into different plains and saving a lot of space.
Then I found a very unique DIY-looking device with a horizontal layout – it used more complicated joints to completely separate the engines. And after some more thinking I went with it, because it will look the best from the top-down point of view. So I took it as a base and added some details from other machines I liked, and that's how Pumpus-3000 was born :-D.
