Process of editing Pictures

Here I will show you why creating scenes takes the most time out of any other work I do. A lot of the pictures I work with are obviously not passable and need to be edited to make it look good/passable. Keep in mind that the left picture was chosen out of like 20-50 pictures that were bad and were filtered out. Now after filtering out 20-50 pictures I find one that I see "potential" in.

1. I cut out the background and any weird stuff that doesn't belong on the picture. In this example I cut out the second braid and the hair underneath, since it doesn't make sense.

2. I add black outlines. This is for aesthetic reasons but also because it removes white pixels that were left over from cutting away of the background.

3. I retouch and remove stuff that is inside the body of the character. This is something that is a bit more complicated since the color needs to be very similiar. I also sometimes change the color of parts of the character.

4. I move and modify parts if needed. Here you can see in the left picture that the dress is too far down in positioning to her breasts, making it look weird. The eyes will also get modified and moved heavily, since most of the time they eyes do not match and I have to copy one eye and replace the other with it.

5. I create the background out of many layers of pictures and gradients trying to enhance the mood of the character. But a lot of the times it's also just the background of the location you are currently in.

6. The last thing that I do, is making "composite pictures". These are made with multiple pictures cut together with the best parts. This can be as simple as changing the emotion of the character or quite complicated with changing the whole stance and pose.
