I have just released two tutorials that demonstrate how you can create your own patterns and ties so you are not -- a'hem -- bound ... to using only the patterns you have learned from others.
The first tutorial, Building Blocks – Junctions, shows the common options you have when two ropes cross each other, which to pick depending on which direction you want your rope to go, and how the various knots are all related...
Then, in the second tutorial, Riffing with Rope (RWR) – Breast Cage, we use that knowledge to create a brand new tie on the fly!
Hopefully these two tutorials will open a new world of creativity for you!
