PATREON BONUS VIDEO: Live at Caveat!

Hello, friends of The War on Cars!

Thank you to everyone who came to see our live show at Caveat on January 31st. We had a great time chatting with our guest, the voice of the New York City subways, Bernie Wagenblast. The show also featured a surprise appearance from pro-car comedian Charlie Dektar, a Cleverhood / The War on Cars anorak giveaway, and a fun Q&A with the audience.

Best of all, we met so many listeners in person, with the majority of the room made up of Patreon supporters. We are humbled by your enthusiasm and support and grateful for all the ways in which you fight to make where you live better. Thanks also to the folks who watched the livestream; we heard from many of you via e-mail right after the show and are so glad you were able to watch it all unfold.

We'll release a shorter, edited version of the show into the podcast feed soon, but we're making the full video of the show available here as a Patreon bonus.

Thank you all for your support!

Gary, do you mean John Bauters, the former mayor of Emeryville, California? I agree we need more leaders like him.

I really want to second the point during closing that grass roots bottom up is important, but leadership at the top down is critical. I have friends who have been traveling to Europe and around the SW USA (Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, etc.) and dragging their bikes along to explore and find great bicycle infrastructure. They have been finding surprising infrastructure in unlikely places and the common denominator is a top down leader willing to implement change. It takes courage, willingness to take the heat, and conviction. Like Jonathan Vaughters, we need more leaders like that. Thank you, Sarah, Aaron, and Doug.
