Bit surprised when they were talking about Crimson Desert that Dustin said it looks like something he'd be into - didn't he say after Yotei's release that he gets burned out by open world games? Maybe I'm remembering wrong but if not, this seems like the opposite of what he'd like lol I myself picked up the game on physical out of morbid curiosity (as I got it for 60 and can trade in currently for like 40 if I really didn't like it, so figured it's worth it to check out) - and after about 4-5 hours I just find myself kinda bored. Gorgeous game but controls are clunky and story is nonsense. I've unlocked a few abilities so that side of things is opening up, but I never find myself drawn to wanting to boot this up and play - which is never a good sign with this kind of game. I often just find myself wanting to do a few runs on Marathon instead lol (which would have been the furthest thing from my mind like a month ago). Next new games I'm really interested in are Saros and maybe Pragmata, I've got some time before those so I'll stick with it and see if it does become at least something fun to play and mess around in. But I absolutely see where all the 7/10s come from.

It has all this rhetoric on there about "THE NUMBERS DON'T LIE" and "RAW DATA," but the most prominently displayed metric is literally a community upvote/downvote button (a la Reddit) that is just "click on this button if you think this game will flop." That's the opposite of objectivity—it's opinion. The site is lying to your face right from the get-go. It's almost as funny as it is sad. Whoever made it is a crayon-chewing retard, and they should do something else with their time.

2026-03-21 03:02:30 +0000 UTCMy take on this is peoples true complained isn't necessarily about the quality of the DLSS5 stuff. Hell, all they have shown is a couple 2 second clips and still images. They say it looks really bad because they are truly worried about peoples jobs and "artistic integrity". But deriding the entire thing will have a better effect than just stumping for peoples jobs. I also think the tech will get better. I also think people will choose to use it or not and that many indie and triple A games will be made without it. Just a lot of doomsaying going around IMO.

In the end it's all going to work out fine and I'm sure stuff will continue to look better. Anything that sucks about this stuff now will probably get iterated on and improved.
