Growing up is realizing Hoeg is exactly correct in his analysis even if you don’t like the messenger. Hoeg has this tendency to overexplain and not realize he’s recording with partners, which is surprising as that’s a mistake noobs to the podcasting space make when they begin. You need to have a strong host paired with him. Doesn’t make him wrong though. Expedition 33 entirely falls apart in the third act, it isn’t interested in explaining anything about its world and what’s in it either and the ultimate reveal is one of the worst tropes in existence. I’m not sure why Chris was even on a spoiler cast for this when he hadn’t finished the game. You can’t tell about the narrative if you haven’t gotten to the end and you certainly can’t comment on someone else’s critique of the big reveal if you haven’t even gotten there. His comment about Halloween costumes was absurd with this context. Who plays an RPG and just handwave any context for the world and its areas with “I don’t need any of that?”

I totally respect his view points but god almighty he was loud, obnoxious, and just kept repeating the same as shit over and over. I get it bro you dont like that it was fake, shut the hell up, i dont need to hear the same thing 37 times. God that spoilercast was annoying as shit and totally ruined the entire vibe of the discussion. unfortunately wont be finishing this one.

2025-06-20 16:15:16 +0000 UTCI hadn't seen all the comments on this one, but agree with majority here as I just finished the game and was excited for the spoilercast. Well I'm excited for the next one. I think I'd be okay with not being high on the game, just let the other people say why things worked for them before saying why it didn't. It was disruptive. Maybe I'm used to LSM doing "around the horn" style vs conversation, but everyone else didn't interrupt when it came to Hoeg's turn. I'd guess he talked about 50% more than any of the other members of the show.

That’s all thanks to Hoeg, who constantly hogs the conversation and cuts off anybody who is trying to talk about why they liked the game. I guess I’ll wait for the 2nd spoilercast so I can actually hear everyone’s opinions on the game and not 2 hours of the Hoeg Show

He is cutting in too much, he is simplifying things too much and he is speaking too loud. I'm having trouble finishing this podcast because he is ho humming a lot of what Coeg and Chris are saying. We got it, it wasn't the story you had written in your head. That is okay, and it is good to hear an opposite opinion but it's coming off like he is trying to invalidate Chris and Coegs opinion. Especially when they are talking about the choice at the end. Hoeg you are just coming in a little too hot.

(not a kick to Hoeg, I usually love his takes but as i understand he's rough in this one)
