This Week's WIP and Previews

Starting off with our WIP, we have two VRARs directly from the Studio.

First up, a project starring Chloe from Detroit: Become Human.

It was a little tricky getting the intro just right, as we added movement of us sliding towards/under her as the action begins. If anything, I feel like it's a little too smooth, slow to notice, but we are working towards more camera movement that doesn't disrupt immersion and getting there. The mirror definitely helps show off the perspective change, but it happens so slowly you may not even notice since you're most likely distracted by, well, her. The mirror ALSO helps show off more of the action, which is always nice. If could do mirrors in every scene, I think I would.

Next up, another VRAR by the studio, starring Miss Fortune.

This was in the works for quite a while, and it feels good to finally have it done. I wish her textures were a little better, but after a good amount of work I feel like the scene build matches the aesthetic as best as possible, given the requested content.

On that topic, one of the most difficult parts for the studio is making sure that the texture quality and aesthetic of the environment matches that of the main model, even if her model isn't the most realistic. Immersion isn't just in the animation and the lighting, but also in matching aesthetic and style choices. For example, imagine watching Borderlands' Moxxie in a realistic bedroom without cel-shading. Unless it's happening due to story reasons the cel-shading style of her model just wouldn't match. Anyways, just sharing a little tidbit of info while I'm thinking of it.

On to this week's previews!

First up, we have Urbosa, another VRAR that was requested on our Discord by a comatose supporter.

She definitely strikes me as a take charge kind of woman. Love this amazon position.

Later this week, we'll also have Alexstrasza from World of Warcraft.

 Another good example of matching model to environment. This is courtesy of SFMPOV, who we're always glad to collaborate with.
