2024-07-24 19:55:11 +0000 UTCIt was common practice in the 90s to use a 16-bit installer with 32-bit programs. (Today we have the same situation, just with 32-bit and 64-bit.) If the program uses a more common installer like InstallShield, it is actually possible to replace the installer binary and install it anyway. 64-bit versions of Windows actually silently employ this trick to make it seamless.
