Ok guys, I wanted to ask if anyone is having any issues with the Mega link that I use as an archive of my works.
At least 2 people have mentioned having issues accessing the older works through the zip files I uploaded and have mentioned empty folders.
As far as I can tell, on my end those zips are complete and have no empty folders. I even downloaded some of those chunky zips to see they were intact. So as to what's causing this, I can imagine a few things.
1.- There might be a sync issue with the link and things aren't fully loading up.
2.- As far as I can tell, you can't open zips in mega and can only open them after downloading. Which raises some potential confusion if you guys are using the mobile app. Leading directly into the possibility that the files aren't fully downloading. Some of those year size zips can go from 300 to 900 mb, so make sure they are downloading propperly before closing mega.
3.- Some kind of bandwith limit with downloads has been hit, either on their side or mine. If anyone here remembers what happend with dropbox, to many people mass downloading what so far has exceeded 2gb of files, might cause the bandwith limit to put some restriction on downloads. With dropbox, the limit caused the link to be suspended until time passed or I paid for an upgrade, causing me to witch to Mega in the first place. I haven't seen any notice that a bandwith limit has been hit and the link seems to work fine, so if this is the issue, than next month I'll bite the bullet and upgrade my mega account, if absolutely necessary.
What can I do from my end?
All I can think of doing is updating the link and resending the Archive to everyone, which I'll do shortly after posting this (Be sure to check tonights Newsletter for the new link).
I can also try reuploading the zips to see if that helps in anyway, but that might take me a minute longer since I don't have the best connection and need some time to upload. Those are some chunky zips.
Let me know what you think guys, and if anyone else is experiencing these issues.
