Hazelnut Latte v0.14 Progress Report 9/16/25

Hello folks, and welcome to another progress report!

v0.14 is coming along! We have been squashing bugs and fixing problems. A big scene that was causing us some issues has been resolved; now we're testing some odd variables in other scenes. We are also fixing the end of episode message, which has required a lot of work since it was causing problems the last time.

The phone hints have also been weird since they are different depending on your choices. There are a lot of potential scenes that can happen, all of which relate to other potential scenes. It's a case of trying to get everything to play nicely with each other. Our scene replays are also acting up, so we need to fix that. We got the backer guided stuff in there, but we just need to test it to make sure it's working.

But honestly, a boring report? We're just fixing and testing and fixing.

For anyone wondering about a release date, we never give them out until we are 100% sure we are ready to go. However, we are confident that you will see the v0.14 Alpha this month.

Excited to get a lot done this week, barring another huge incident happening that distracts everyone.

Steam Release News

One of the most common questions I get (despite having an FAQ that answers this) is: When is Hazelnut Latte coming to Steam? I always give the same answer, which is what I say in many of my posts, which is: A Steam release is years away because the game is years away from completion. We are wrapping up Episode 6 of 24 planned episodes, so it will be some time before it is done.

Now, Steam has made even Early Access not an option. The developers of Heavy Hearts have discovered the hard way that Steam no longer allows lewd/adult games to enter its Early Access program.

We originally were planning on launching on Steam Early Access around Episode 12-15, which is roughly the halfway mark of the story. However, with this change, it looks like we will have to wait until the game is done to launch.

While this sucks, it just means when the game DOES launch, it will be a complete game.
