Ableton Warp Settings/Beat Grid

Whats good people! Thank you for those who locked into the stream Friday night, we then got our heads down to finish some dubs over the weekend, but were back with a little tutorial for Ableton users.

Alot of people messaged me about WARPING , and that they can`t get their samples in time, we have decided to cover this fully in depth for those in Gold/Plat during our first Q&A Session which will be announced later this week BUT for now, here is my warp settings and a quick fix on 99% of warping problems.

DEFAULT WARP MODE - COMPLEX - If your dropping your samples in, and they are not going into time even if they have a drumbeat running from start to finish, this is why, if this is on beats, its really good at picking up House but not so good with drum and bass, so when writing drum and bass, hit up COMPLEX. (Picture 1)

ALSO when you drop in your samples after changing to COMPLEX make sure your BEAT GRID is 1/32 when your DROPPING IN. To change your beat grid click the number in the bottom right corner of your ARRANGEMENT MODE. (As shown how to change in picture 2,3 and 4)

Once its at 1/32 drop your sample in the grid, 99% of the time this sample will now be in time, if its just an acapella, you`ll be alot closer than normal but you`ll still have to do some moving around.

The reason we drop at 1/32 is because this is directly connected to your warp mode, its now warping in COMPLEX at 1/32. It does not tell you that in the manual, and can be a fucking pain in the arse for drum and bass tempo if you don`t know this. 

If you are trying to drop in an OLD SAMPLE or dropped it in wrong and want to try again, you must delete the ABLETON CLIP FILE (The file created next to the original once you drop it in) in order for Ableton to create a new one with the 1/32 and Complex settings in mind.
