New Patreon Fee 👎 (UPDATED)

You probably haven't heard the news, because Patreon made very little notice of it besides a blog post, and it has been drowned out by the sea of opposition, which you probably have heard about.
The TL;DR version is that you now have to pay a 2.9% + $0.35 fee in addition to your pledge (which takes something simple and makes it needlessly complicated). So, a $1 pledge now costs $1.38, a $2 pledge now costs $2.41, and a $5 pledge now costs $5.50. If you do the math, you'll see it effects low amount patrons the most.
As an advocate of simplicity, I'm not a fan of this change. Furthermore, I feel the reasoning behind this fee is disingenuous, or at the very least, misguided. Nevertheless, I am in charge of pricing my own content, so I will do my best to make sure people pay a fair amount to support me.
