I also googled trilobite beetles ... so cool!

1. Renaming the channel to include broader zoology topics is a great idea. There's several good ideas in the comments here already. 2. If you want to branch out to controversial/conspirarcy type stuff, I think a second channel would be best. I love your zoological content, but I avoid political topics unless I'm in the right mindset to handle it. (I'm bipolar, and sometimes Im just not in a good place to deal with emotionally charged topics.) I know I am probably a very specific case, but I think others would agree they don't want the zoology content mixed with conspiracy stuff.

I think a second channel would be the best choice. Unless you find a name or way to turn the channels name to match the broader content while still being able to give Clint his credibility like he mentioned.

I went to a nature preserve place in Southern Ohio called "The Wilds". (nearly 20 years ago) There, I had my first introduction to a Dohl. Instantly, it became my favorite canid.

idk if a pun is right for the whole channel name, but Clint HAS to create a new video format called Laidlaw & Order. Where... idk, he reacts to pseudoscience videos and judges them XD

Rurrie

Laidlaw & Order is HILARIOUS <3

You could re-upload all your Creationist videos to the new channel so there's content right away for new viewers to explore.

It's also a good idea because you'll get a ton of followers on your new channel right away (from fans of your Clint's Reptiles channel). YouTube will see this surge of growth and the algorithm will favor you, giving you more reach. Plus I've heard YouTube tweaked the algorithm & it's currently favoring new channels so this might be the right time to make the leap.

Don't change your main channel - just make a second channel. That's what everyone else does. Mythical has their main Good Mythical Morning channel, then Mythical Kitchen for their food stuff, Mythical MORE specifically for their aftershow, the Rhett & Link channel for the hosts' independent content, and Ear Biscuits for their podcast. Being one of the giants of YouTube, I assume they know what they're doing and there's a good reason for this. I, for one, don't want to see the fun Reptiles channel I started following suddenly become a Debunking Conspiracies channel. Or a Movie Review channel. Put that stuff in a different box, please.

Candice Owens audience are likely Trump supporters. Pure stupidity, willful ignorance, bigotry….take your pick. She hopped on the gravy train of the far right grifters.

It is information we need to know who and what to take seriously. It is a PSA for those who may fall victim to dangerous rhetoric and conspiracy. AHEM January 6th 2020….

I like the idea of just going with your name "Clint Laidlaw." Gives you the greatest degree of freedom and sounds professional as well.

New name suggtion: Clint's Clades

You could do regular videos about recently discovered/described animals.

If you're considering branching out with videos on "conspiracy/hoax"-like topics, you might consider exploring some that are closer to on-brand first. Like legendary cryptids (I'm sure there's more out there than Bigfoot and Loch Ness monster) or modern and historical hoaxes like the Fiji mermaid or TicTok videos of chupacabra. :)

A few of my suggestions for potential channel names, whether that be this channel or secondary πŸ˜‹ β€” Clintiverse β€” The Laidlaw Effect β€” Clint’s Corner β€” Expedition Clint β€” Laidlaw & Order β€” Open Minds I do think this channel could fit under the idea of the Clintiverse, while something like The Laidlaw Effect or Laidlaw & Order might be a good podcast-style discussion forum with minimal editing that allows for topic expansion outside of the standard brand.

My vote is for a trial run of the name "Learn with Clint" - simple. accurate. expandable.

Seth McPherson

1) She - who ever she is - does it to get attention. I prefer to ignore her. 2) While I really enjoyed your creationist videos because they are directly related to zoology - I prefer you not to do conspiracy things on this channel. If you want to make a second channel, ok. 3) I want to come to Clint's Reptiles for my birthday. Maybe I will meet you all some day. :)
