⚠️ Important Note for iOS / Apple Users: Avoid Extra Fees!

What’s happening:
Patreon memberships purchased via the iOS app are subject to Apple’s standard 30% App Store commission. Patreon is required to use Apple’s in‑app purchase system for new subscriptions in iOS.
This means that if someone signs up (or upgrades) through the Patreon app on an iPhone/iPad, the price may be automatically marked up so that Apple can get a cut.
What you can do to avoid the extra fee:
Use a web browser (desktop or mobile) or Android device to subscribe or upgrade.
If you’re using iOS and have already subscribed via the app, you can cancel in the iOS app and re‑subscribe through Patreon’s website once your current billing period ends.
We also saw that Patreon’s iOS app (U.S. version) now supports alternative checkout (outside of Apple’s IAP) in some cases, which may allow bypassing the 30% fee.
Why we’re telling you:
We want you all to keep exactly what you signed up for — no hidden markup or extra fees. So if you see your price is higher and you’re paying via iOS app, that might be why. Switching your payment method can help avoid that markup.
