In this first episode we're introduce to Go Hye-mi, a talented, prideful young woman dreaming of becoming an opera star. But it's clear right away that things aren't what it seems when she's chased by debt collectors. She's saved by a young man named Si-hyuk but honestly, she doesn't seem that grateful. In fact, the girl has a bit of an attitude problem but its hard not to feel bad for her when we find out that her family is facing financial ruin and her father has ditched her and her younger sister, leaving the two all on their own. Now with dept collectors coming after her, Hye-mi has to give up her Opera dreams and audition for Kirin Arts High School. We're also introduced to Kang Oh-yuk, a teacher at Kirin struggling to keep his job who also has a history with Hye-mi. We end with Hye-mi and her best friend Baek-hee auditioning together but when Baek-hee is accepted instead of Hye-mi, Hye-mi has to swallow her pride.
