Fairy Godfather

Pips has been practicing his magic, and has been tasked with being a Fairy Godparent. His god child has been chosen a boy named Sora. He barely has much time to get to know Sora as the Darkness comes for the boy’s island. Pips must do what he can to protect Sora and help guide him. Pips/Sora/Harem

Chapter 1 God Parent

Pips is a Fairy of Ferngully. The red haired fairy was fine just living in his jungle, goofing around, and practicing magic when it suited him. He had Krysta and his boys to hang with, what more could he need. Then Zack showed up and showed Krysta something more, something different.

Hexxus escaped and Krysta showed how powerful she was, how brave, how much she loved everyone. She gathered the fairies to seal Hexxus away once more.

After that Krysta continued to practice her magic, growing stronger, and taking care of Ferngully, while Pips felt lost, restless, like he was missing something. He couldn’t match Krysta in magic anymore, and she was often too busy for him, and his boys did the same thing every day.

He felt stuck in a rut. Krysta saw this and offered to train him. Maji left behind many secrets, some of which Krysta shared with Pips. She was pushing him to try, work hard, and focus his magic. “What’s the point, what would you have me do, grow more trees, big deal the forest is full of them?”

“Actually Pips, I think you’d be better suited with this.” She gave him a scroll, containing an official notice to be a Fairy God Parent.

Pips was stunned. “You...think that I could…”

“If you train properly and get your wand, I think you’d make a great god parent.” Such Fae were of high regard, granted a wand, able to grant wishes, considered some of the most powerful fae in existence. “It’s your choice Pips.”

Pips was stunned.

Krysta wasn’t blind, she could see his frustrations, he needed to spread his wings and fly. She wanted to prepare Pips with everything Ferngully had to offer.

With new found resolve Pips worked his fairy butt off, and he was ready to go become a God Parent. Technically this meant more training.

Pips was given a fond farewell, before Krysta opened a portal to the Fairy Academy. Here Pips could train to get his wand, and gain the skills a god parent will need.

Misstress Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather were the teachers, guiding fairies from across the multiverse. Fairies were some of the creatures allowed to know the knowledge of the multiverse, along with creatures like Genies and Unicorns. The Fae World was weirdly connected to all universes, some stronger than others, but it was weird. Portals and gates to the fae realm opened and closed at random, sometimes even changed location at will. It took a powerful fairiy to tether a gate to a specific location. That’s why the fairies were trying to train others help them gain the skills to tether.

The intent was to create a network of support to help protect worlds.

Pips butted heads with two fairy specifically. Vidia, who looked down on him for wanting to become a God Parent. Then there was Rumble, who looked down on Pips for being a “bumpkin”. As he saw it Pips was from a backwater world of little importance.

Rumble was a Storm Fairy, he was powerful given his magic nature, so he looked down on a lot fairies for being weak. The guy had a serious ego and was really arrogant. Pips didn’t let him have his way.

He studied the magic and power of creation, and harnessed the magic of Ferngully, which was seen as inferior. The realms of magic were vast, lot of them had different rules. At the Fairy Academy in order to become a God Parent they needed to get a handle on various magics to earn their wand.

Pips wasn’t without friends. He actually got into bed with Fae royalty, Cornelius. They both hated Rumble, though Vidia thought Cornelius was hot, he wasn’t interested in her.

Cornelius was a prince but he wanted more. He wanted to become a knight and a hero, to fight on the front lines. There were dark forces out there, and he wanted to help by defeating them, battling the darkness.

So many thought it was too dangerous and Cornelius should find a safer path. Not Pips. He’d seen bravery in humans in Zack, seen the courage of a fairy in Krysta who stood up to Hexxus.

The red head gave Cornelius tips on how to harness the power of creation, tapping into the forces of nature. Having healing and more complex spells could help on the battlefield. Just having someone to believe in him meant the world to Cornelius.

He gave Pips tips on learning combat spells and fighting.

Pips discovered he was very musically inclined, he could play more than his pipe flute, he could even play a leaf. Letting the other fairies here the voice of the forest of Ferngully through him. It was beautiful.

Cornelius was good with the violin. Rumble thought their music was just like them, soft and weak. He played the drums, he brought the boom.

Pips studied and learned, and managed to graduate becoming a god parent. He was given his wand, it was white with green vine and leaf embrodery. The wand was unique as it doubled as a flute. He could play it to perform Bardic magic.

Vidia did graduate, but Rumble didn’t. Rumble ignored his studies, only caring about magics involving the elements of the storm. He thought that was enough, it was not. Of course he blamed Pips, a darkness settling in his heart.

Pips was given his first assignment. A boy named Sora.

Sora has been living on a small island, in the fae tongue it was called Destiny Island. He was living here alongside his friend and rival Riku.

The two were always seen together, they did their lessons together, took naps together, ate lunch together, even took baths together. As they got older this continued with them forming a friendly rivalry either battling with wooden swords, playing, racing, and doing anything else that is competitive. It seemed all in good fun.

They wanted to see the world some day, to see what lay beyond the horizon. Some of the adults talked about the “mysterious beyond”.

The brunette wanted to protect Riku, so he had to get stronger. Why not get stronger together!

Sora had a big heart. Even on a small island in a tiny world, the boy’s warmth reached out and touched others. More than he’d ever realize, more than he’d ever know.

Things changed when a mysterious girl showed up shore. Kairi became the Mayor’s daughter, Sora and Riku became friends with her. The trio talked more about leaving, Kairi had no memory of where she came from. So she joined the Island Explorer trio.

They planned to build a raft one day and sail off, explore the great mysterious beyond.

Though something did change. Riku and Sora’s rivalry got more heated.

Sora thought it was because of Kairi, that Riku liked her and he was trying to show off for her. It bothered Sora though he wasn’t sure why. If there was tension that didn’t shake the plan of them leaving together.

So Sora was a bit confused… this confusion only grew when Riku sprung on him that he had found a Paopu Fruit, according to legend if two people share one, their destinies become interwined.

For some reason Riku wanted to race for it. They’d race to their Secret Place, a mysterious room with a strange door with no lock or handle. It had been their secret base for so long, they had all their supplies for their big trip there.

Sora didn’t get it, but he was down to race. Before today became tomorrow, Sora’s room was filled with green light. “Whoa!”

The light was drawn into a single point and Pips appeared. “Hello Sora, I’m Pips, and I’m…” He twirled his wand. “You’re Fairy God Parent!” In the text of Ferngully his name and Fairy God Parent was written in the air.

“Huh?!”

“I’m a fairy, and I’ve been chosen to be you’re god parent, you’re god father as it were.” Pips winked at him.

“Wait so you’re a fairy...you...you come from beyond! What’s it like can you tell me?”

“Well...I actually come from a place called Ferngully…” He told Sora about his home, the jungle, the animals and the fairy. “But I actually trained in the Fae Realm to be a God Parent. My friend Cornelius is actually from a whole other world completely.” Sora’s eyes sparkled.

“Is it possible to visit those other worlds?”

“Sure thing kid, you wish it I’ll grant it.” He twirled his wand.

“I wish…” Sora stopped.

“What’s wrong?”

“Can, can my friends come, I’d like to see other worlds with my friends, Riku and Kairi. It used to be the two of us, now we’re a trio.”

“They can, but if you’ve been working on this together, you might find it more satisfying to see it through to the end together.” Sora nodded. “But hey, you have me now, I’ll stick with you and help make things smooth sailing.”

“That’s so cool!” Sora told Pips about the race tomorrow. “I think Riku wants to share the fruit with Kairi, but he doesn’t want to upset me about it.”

“Would it upset you?”

“I dunno.” Sora twidled his fingers. “Probably not…” He wanted Riku to be happy.

“Well who would you want to share the fruit with? Kairi or this Riku boy?” Pips asked, folding his arms.

“Well I mean Kairi of course. Ever since she heard about the legend she wanted to try it, but I’ve never found the fruit.” He planned to give it to her to enjoy.

“You could, share it with Riku, you know, if you loved him that way.”

Sora blushed. “What are you talking about Pips? I mean, we’re both guys, two guys can’t...I mean can they?” Not so strange Sora wouldn’t know, given he’s lived on a tiny island all his life.

Pips cracked his knuckles. “You got a lot to learn kid, I think it’s time for your first lesson.” Pips snapped his fingers and Sora’s bed turned into a desk and a chalk board appeared out of thin air. “I’m sure you’ve learned about the birds and the bees, but now you can learn about the flowers and the trees!”

Pips gives Sora the talk, learning the ins and outs of boys love. The boy needed some much needed education Pips even giving him a hand. Sora’s determined to win the race and with a helpful hint from Pips he makes it. Riku thinks Sora’s gonna give it to Kairi, he’s been feeling really low that Sora’s gonna leave him behind. He did something he can’t take back making the fact Sora shared the fruit with him, all the more painful
