Chapter 2 Friends in the Sea Part 1: Atlantica

Atlantica was a kingdom under the sea, in it’s world it had the strongest domain and the greatest force, so while there were other kingdoms in this world, the world itself was classified as Atlantica.

The place had problems beyond the threat of the Heartless.

King Triton ruled the sea with the Power of Poseidon, a powerful artifact in the form of a trident. Long ago merfolk and humans lived in harmony, but tragedy struck as humans murdered Triton’s wife, causing a massive rift between their people.

To make matters worse as the years passed humans continued to make trouble for the sea folk, incurring Triton’s wrath. Making the two sides more vicious to each other. Humans began to actively hunt mermaids/merfolk.

Things only got worse as Triton and his sister had a falling out. She had the other half of the power of Poseidon a magical shell necklace. Ursula began to study sorcery and black magic, she began to openly mess with humans causing misery, which only brought more pain to their people.

Her work became known as the anger or wrath of the sea gods, the reality was that it was Ursula making mischief. She didn’t see why they had to allow humans freedom, if anything they should be serving them. Thankfully even in grief Triton didn’t agree with her whims. He found humans dangerous and was content with just keeping their people separated.

Even with all her spells and witchcraft, she couldn’t deny her brother was more powerful than her. It wasn’t just the trident he had good control and understanding of the power he wielded. She coveted his power, she knew if she could just unite the powers of Poseidon she’d rule both the land and the sea!

Not wanting to kill his sister, Triton opted to banish her.

This darkened her heart further. Ursula was approached by the darkness, offering her a deal granting her power and command over the Heartless. She began to secretly steal hearts for the Darkness, making deals and having the payment be their hearts. Her targets were the miserable, the lonely, and the depressed.

She was willing to play the long game, building her army so she could take Atlantica for herself.

Ursula and the Heartless wasn’t the only threat in this world, the other was the Evil Manta. A powerful force of darkness, he was able to cause discourse and chaos using his dark mental abilities, telepathy, and sinister charisma. He had been sealed away but was freed when Ursula allowed the Heartless in.

Manta was physically strong and had his own natural abilities but even he couldn’t measure up to Triton’s power or Ursula’s magic. He also didn’t even wish to rule Atlantica, he was the watch the world burn type of evil, he wasn’t happy unless everyone was fighting and hating each other.

Despite his evil heart, the Darkness wouldn’t side with him, even the forces of evil could tell he was chaotic evil and would destroy everything around him sooner or later, giving him power or command over Heartless would be a bad idea.

He didn’t need the Heartless, as he discovered some strange little pods that fell from the sky, when exposed to water they transformed into strange creatures. Using his mastery over the mind, he took control of these creatures, using them to spread his evil.

Manta was also smart, he let Triton and Ursula duke it out over the rule of Atlantica, while he’d bring the chaos and make all of them suffer.

Urchin was a poor merboy, he’d been on his own since his parents were killed by humans. He didn’t really have time to mourn or to hate, as he was too busy surviving. Urchin did what he must to survive, even if that meant stealing, he stole from both humans and merfolk.

The blonde was one of the few brave enough to go to the surface. He’d also scavenge wrecked ships, in the hopes of finding stuff he could use or sell. Even as the sea grew more dangerous, not only were there vicious predators like sharks, but now there were also heartless roaming the sea.

His fate had taken a bit of a turn as with the appearance of the Heartless stories were changing. Urchin was meant to meet and befriend Ariel one of Triton’s daughters, he’d have been welcomed into the family seen as a son to Triton and the boy would come into his own as a hero.

As the world became tainted with darkness, he was doing all he could just to keep his heart from going cold.

Another young lad was Prince Eric, his destiny had to changed since Ursula made her deal with the darkness. The boy was a fine sailor and worked to explore the beyond. As the seas grew more and more dangerous his parents tried to keep him safe and secluded at home.

This just pushed Eric to want to sail all the more. He wasn’t scared of the unknown, and took all the stories of dangerous seafolk as just stories. Even if they were true, he didn’t think they needed to be scared of them. “Eric many of our ships have been attacked.”

“We don’t know it was the seafolk.”

“Of course it was them, who else could it have been. Pirates? The ships were sunk to the bottom of the sea, whoever is doing this isn’t after treasure or bounty.”

“Then what do we do, stay here and do nothing.”

“Yes, we are safe on the land, the land gives us what we need we don’t need to branch out from here or get involved with the sea.”

“We might as well be prisoners then, our kingdom will suffer if we cannot grow and make connections. Give me a ship, let me prove it’s not the seafolk doing this let us make connections with our neighbors and grow together.”

“You are young, you don’t understand the ways of the world.” He had no idea how dangerous the seas were becoming. The few survivors were half mad, speaking of monsters in the water, and a darkness…

“You also gave me an education, you taught me to fight so I can protect myself, you taught me to sail so I could survive on the sea, you taught me the elegance or royalty and how to dance so I wouldn’t make a fool of myself when engaging with other royalty.”

“That was then...situations have changed…”

“Then let’s change them in our favor. If the world is changing and we don’t change with it we’ll likely be swallowed up.”

“Very well.” His mother sighed. “I’ll give you one ship, take some sailors and soldiers just in case, if you can sail to get supplies and back I’d be willing to open up negotiations.”

“Thank you mother.” The queen was beside herself, wanting to protect her people and her son, but she knew scars of the past ran deep and though she wasn’t aware of everything going on beneath the sea, she was trying to keep her kingdom safe.

Eric was on a mission now, he got a ship and a crew, with soldiers to help guard it. The boy sailed off looking forward to the adventure.

His ship took to sea, sailing across the seemingly smooth waters. Some of the men were a bit anxious but Eric believed they’d be fine. “What about the seafolk?”

“What about them?”

“I hear they have sinister songs, that bewitch men, leading them to their deaths. Some call ‘em merfolk but they be sirens none the less.”

“Do you really believe that?”

“Others say they can control sea beasts and monsters.”

“But have you ever met one?”

“Nope, and I hope I never do!” Eric rolled his eyes.

He didn’t want to think things were so black or white. Before he passed his father told him stories of how merfolk used to save sailors from storms and shipwrecks, and used their songs to guide sailors through the fog. He read a book of legends on them and the stories sometimes conflicted with each other, it left him with more questions than answers. ‘I want to meet a member of the seafolk with my own eyes and see for myself.’

Manta noticed the ship. “Looks like we have another one. Sinker, do your thing!”

Experiment 602 Sinker, he had a large sword-like dorsal fin, which he could use to slice ships in two. His aquatic design allowed him to live both on land and sea, he could stay in the water indefinitely if he wanted to.

Manta was using him to bring down ships.

Sinker swam out, moving towards the ship slowly.

Urchin noticed the large shadow. ‘What’s going on?’ He looked closely and saw the strange purple creature moving towards the ship.

Sching! He cut into the ship, causing them to take on water.

“We’re sinking, taking on water!” Sinker could have cut the ship in half, but he hadn’t had a ship in awhile so he was enjoying himself a bit. He mad another pass slicing into the ship like a knife through butter. “Get to the life boats!”

Men rushed and scrambled, some of them looked out and saw a purple fin moving through the water. “Be it a shark?!”

“No it’s some kind of monster!”

Some soldiers to to man the cannons and hold off the creature as the others evacuated the ship. Sinker was able to slice through the cannon balls with ease. The same happened to any spears or arrows lodged his way.

Eric was trying to get everyone off the ship, but before he could join them Sinker cut the ship in two, the split separating Eric from the rest of the crew. “Eric!” He wasn’t able to escape.

The prince fell into the sea. He saw the strange creature surging towards him. ‘This is it...I’m finished...I never got to meet a…’ Suddenly he was snatched, getting dragged away from the purple monster.

It was Urchin. ‘What am I doing? I must be crazy.’

Eric was trying to hold his breath but eventually passed out.

Sinker tried to swim after them, but a merman’s speed was impressive, even carrying a person he was able to out pace the creation. Annoyed now, he turned his sight onto the men in the life boats. “Hahahahaha!” He charged at them, ready to slice and dice.

“Wait!” Manta stopped him. “Let’s let them go, I can use this to my advantage!”

Using his mental powers he tricked the men into thinking they saw a merfolk run off with their dear prince.

Urchin had pulled Eric onto an island’s shore. “Come on, come on, please don’t be dead.” Slap! No response. “Oh crap!”

He checked his heart, and the beat was getting weak. “Oh man, what do I do, what do I do?” At this rate the guy was gonna die.

Urchin took some deep calming breaths. “I can do this...I can do this…” Urchin began to sing, drawing out the voice of the sea that existed in all merfolk.

As he sang a golden field of energy appeared around them. ‘Don’t die...live...live...live…’

Eric coughed up some water, and he began to breath normally again his heart rate slowly increasing. He finished his song as the color returned to Eric’s cheeks. “Oh man…” Urchin blushed. “I can’t believe I used my song...for a human…” He was beyond embarrassed.

It seemed his song had another effect on Eric as the boy was pitching quite the tent. “What is this?” Urchin poked at the bulge, then slowly began rubbing it. Eric moaned in his sleep.

Urchin kept poking and prodding slowly figuring out how pants worked, undoing them he lowered them causing Eric’s cock to spring up. “Whoa?!” His eyes sparkled as he gazed upon a human penis for the first time.

“Looks like quite a haul!” With so many of their cousins in one place, they had to go there.

“Let’s go get our friends back!” Stitch said.

“The ship has identified the world, looks like we’re heading to Atlantica.”
