Leon had the worst luck, in his previous life he was blackmailed by his sister to completing an otome game for her. He played for days straight but he managed to complete the game 100%. By a stroke of misfortune he dies and ends up in this world. Not as the protag or one of the capture characters, but as a mob. Life in this world is hard for mobs, that is until they take control.

Chapter 1

Leon Fou Bartford was not your typical character, he would have been a simple mob, but as it turns out he’s a reincarnation. In his previous life he was blackmailed by his sister to play a REALLY difficult Otome game to 100% completion. He died A LOT in the game and had to pay money to get cheat items to make the game playable, barely even easier.

In his old life he had a mother, a father, and a rotten little sister. The game was a pain, but having played it so many times he memorized a lot. He knew the plot, the characters, and the events by heart. After completing the game, he sadly died and reincarnated into this world so similar to the game he played.

His memories returned to him in a dream, and he realizes he’s quite screwed. This world was stacked against him in so many ways. He recorded all his game knowledge and trained for 10 years in the hopes of having a better life in this world. Even that wasn’t gonna be easy as Zola his father’s wife clearly wanted him dead.

All of the “illegitimate” children were insured. So if they died in battle/combat Zola would get a nice big check. She also used them as political pawns, sending them off to be married to create ties to other families.

Zola wanted to marry Leon off to a rich noble woman who’s had several husbands already and all “mysteriously” died. ‘No freaking way!’ He wasn’t about to have his life be ripped from him again.

Using his gamer knowledge he tracked down a cheat item. He felt bad as it meant he was taking it from the protagonist but he’d pay her back somehow. He nearly died getting it but obtained Luxion. In this world it was called a Lost Item.

He obtained the Ancient Spaceship and all the contents inside, including the sassy AI. He spent two months adventuring and accumulating wealth with the help of the items on the ship. Zola was pissed he returned home...alive. “I demand you hand over all the lost items and the treasure!”

“Huh?” He rubbed his ear. “I don’t think I heard you right, by the laws of this land all of this belongs to me, and no one not even the king can ask me for it!” He loved the pissed off look Zora gave him.

Leon didn’t care. He was done being her pawn and refused to tied to any woman like her. While their society was a matriarchy, like in any society there were those that would abuse the power or be corrupted by it. Zora was one of these women, she was a part of a group that saw all men as merely slaves, if you weren’t pretty enough to be arm candy, good enough in the bedroom, you’d find yourself in danger zones with them just waiting to cash your insurance check.

Bartfort just wanted a nice peaceful life in this world. So he bought a deserted island he came across. Using Luxion’s bots they began to cultivate the land and began building. Luxion’s consciousness traveled with him in a small sphere form, keeping him up to date on their progress.

The main air ship was docked under the island. It was amazingly versatile, it can create any kind of material, not something from nothing, but it could literally turn rocks into gold. Hard to believe even using this in game could be considered cheat mode the game was STILL a pain in the ass.

According to Luxion, he had both old human and new human traits, which was interesting. Luxion had a great hate for the “new humans” so was happy to help make them miserable at Leon’s command. This island was like their own little world that they could do what they wanted with. It was officially Leon’s territory.

As it stood Bartfort just wanted to live a peaceful life, he’d make tons of money, have servants take care of his family, and after graduating from the academy live the good life. Luxion was loyal to Leon, but being a new human even half gave the AI plenty of chances to be snarky.

He tried to explain to Luxion that he was simply a Mob character and wanted to live a simple life. The AI didn’t understand.

Leon wasn’t worried about finding a partner at the academy. At this magic/mecha/knight academy the students are divided into Advanced and Regular classes. The daughters that Leon wanted to avoid would be taking the advanced classes.

Daughters and Heirs of noble families were stationed above the knights and baronets. Leon was a “noble” in name only, and he wasn’t an heir so he wasn’t worried. Finding a woman like Zora was a death flag/game over disaster he wished to avoid.

Advanced Class: Higher Nobles, Heirs of Barons or higher, and Noble Daughters.

Regular Class: Non-Heir Males from lower nobles, males and females from knight households.

‘If I’m lucky maybe I can avoid the protagonist and the capture characters.’ He thought.

Nope….

Much to his shock he was assigned to the Advanced Class. “Your adventuring success has earned you the title of Baron.” His father told him. Leon was scared now, he wanted to be far away from the game’s protagonist as possible and the capture characters. The last thing he wanted was drama, he had enough of that in his old life thanks to his sister. He also had enough of that in this life thanks to Zora and his sisters!

“I just wanna go to a regular class.” He cried.

“Out of the question!” His father said. “This is a high honor, and of course we will have to find you a nice young noblewoman to wed.”

“NOOOOO!” He pounded on the table in despair.

“Don’t cry! There are plenty of nice girls there...I think…” Leon didn’t have much interest in girls, even in his old life he wasn’t set on getting a girlfriend or anything.

“You know the women from the baronies to the counties are the biggest minefields of all!” He declared believing if he met one boom, his life was over.

“Minefields?! Aren’t your own sisters like that too? Is that really how you see them?”

“Of course, if you think they’re nice you need to go to the asylum!” His father was shocked.

“That’s mean…” As if fate wanted to prove Leon’s point.

“Hey! My stupid younger brother!” His sisters entered the room. “There you are. Geez, don’t make us look for you!”

“Ugh Jenna…” His oldest sister was awful. Better than Zola’s kids but still awful. “Why are you here?”

“We’re on spring break! More importantly what’s with your attitude?” She flipped back her hair. “I thought I’d thank you for buying me a slave, but I guess you really are the worst.” She glared at him. “You have more money don’t you?! Hand it over to the family!”

Balcus sweatdropped. He had a look of ‘Where did I go wrong?’ on his face.

“First of all I didn’t buy you a slave, you wanted money so I loaned you some. You won’t get a dime till you pay me back by the way.”

“Whatever, you have tons of it, you should be giving us an allowance, we both need money!” Jenna said. She says this even though she gets an allowance from her father already, she wants an additional allowance from her LITTLE brother.

“I really wanted an elf servant as well...big brother is so stingy!” Finley was...difficult. She was close to Jenna and picked up the worst of her habits. Though Leon got the feeling that Jenna would abandon the family if given the chance, Finley loved and cared about the family.

Blacus face palmed. His son looked at him. “See?”

“Ugh...well...yeah…” He had no other words.

Leon did get a servant for the household. Mostly because he didn’t want to leave his little brother Colin unprotected from Zora’s wrath. His name was Miauler, he was made an exclusive servant to the Bartfort household/Leon’s house technically.

If Leon was around he answered directly to him, when he was gone he answered to Leon’s father Balcus and mother Luce. He was to care and look after Colin, that was his primary objective.

He was tall and very handsome, having long cat ears and sharp eyes. He was a cat demi human, and he had purple stripes on his cheeks, while his hair color was a striking gray.

Miauler was shocked to have a man choose him, he didn’t know who this young man was but came to learn of his new master’s skills and abilities from his mother. He had been quite happy since working at the Bartfort estate. Leon showed him a lot of kindness and he admired the man’s skill in combat. The two even sparred and Miauler was impressed with Leon’s abilities. He wasn’t the type of master he believed he’d get but it was far better then he imagined.

While he will protect Colin with his life, he sees Jenna as a pain and wished she’d stop pestering his master.

Most demi humans treat the servant and master relationship as nothing but employee and employer. When Leon left to tend to his island Miauler missed him, and when he watched him train he couldn’t help but yearn for something more. When Leon took a break to bathe Miauler wished to assist him. “You don’t have to do that.” His kitty ears flattened, he wanted to.

Jenna’s servant was a snake boy, Leon couldn’t help but think he looked like Gin from Bleach, but with jade hair, yellow eyes, and more noticeable scales. He was also called Rum, so yeah he may have been a reference to that character. Miauler got to see how Jenna treated her servant, and frankly he was quite glad Leon chose him instead of her.

Sadly the two would be parted as Leon was heading to the academy. “Please Master allow me to accompany you.”

“As much as I’d love you to, I need you here to look after my family. I can count on you right?”

“Right!” He saluted. “I will not fail!”

‘Plus if I came to school with a hot guy servant I may attract the wrong attention.’ As soon as Leon got to the academy he wanted to go home. ‘I should have brought Miauler with me!’

The Royal Capital, Holfort Kingdom. Situated on a vast island, it’s a beautiful city, modern yet full of nature and peace. With a population that exceeds a million and the society is centered around the nobility.

In this city, lies the academy, the core of the otome game Leon had played in his previous life. He...was not...happy...

It’d have been fine if he was just going into the regular class, but as soon as he arrived he spotted not only the Protagonist, the Rival, and the Capture characters. ‘This is gonna suck!’ Weirdly enough it was a short girl with fluffy hair that brought out a sense of pure rage from him. He didn’t fully understand why.

At the Welcome Party he was able to meet two guys, who’d become his friends. Daniel Fou Daliant, he was good looking, with tan skin, blonde hair, and green eyes. Then there was Raymond Fou Arkin, he had dark green hair and blue eyes, wears glasses. They were hoping to meet someone at the academy or risk being married off to an old woman. A realistic fear for all.

Leon hoped this meant things at the academy would be okay...he was wrong.
