Chapter 6 One Key Down

With Tyranno missing and one of the gates having been opened it was obvious who had fallen. “Hassleberry lost!” Chazz huffed. “That idiot!”

“This is bad.” Jesse said. “Hassleberry is missing as well.”

“If he lost in a Shadow Duel, it’s possible the Shadow Rider claimed his soul.” Raphael stated.

“Nonsense, it’s likely this rider kidnapped the boy and took his key.” Crowler said, skeptical of any “real magic”. He knew about people claiming to have such powers but they were charlatans and scam artists. “I’ll have security search the island.”

The keys could only be truly stolen if won in a duel. “Go ahead, if they locate the shadow rider, tell them not to engage but report back immediately.” Shepard ordered.

Crowler left, he had security on high alert, but told them nothing about engaging the enemy. ‘We’ll bring this rider down!’ He was thinking about a big promotion if he brings the intruder in.

The professor wasn’t thinking about the danger at all. He wasn’t even concerned about Hassleberry’s safety. If he cared about any students it was his Obelisk Blue Students alone.

“To think one of the guardians was already taken down.” Shepard wasn’t happy.

“No worries sir, we’ll protect the rest of the keys.” Zane said.

“I think it would be safe if we used the buddy system.” Raphael said. There was six of them left, so pairing up was easy.

“Didn’t the dino dork travel with a whole group?” Chazz brought up.

“Yes...Troop Tyranno, from what I heard they disbanded.” Bastion spoke up.

“How odd, Hassleberry goes missing and his little gang gets broken up.” Alexis pondered.

“If they were with him when he was attacked maybe they can give us a clue?” Jessie wasn’t sure.

“I’m not sure about that, he had lost a bet a week ago and vanished sometime this week. No one has seen him since the...naked run.” Troop Tyranno was disbanded in that time.

“Hmm…” Shepard didn’t like this, something wasn’t adding up. “Until we get some answers I want you guardians to be sticking together.”

Chazz smirked. “Hey Alexis how about you and I…” She elbowed him.

“Not a chance!”

“Zane and Alexis, you’ll be a pair. Chazz and Bastion you’ll be another pair. Jessie and Raphael you’ll be the last pair. I want you to be on guard.”

“Yes sir!” Chazz wasn’t happy being paired up with Bastion of all people. The two didn’t have the best relationship, though that was Chazz’s fault.

Bastion certainly had the skills to enter Obelisk Blue, but claimed he wasn’t ready. He wanted to defeat Jessie and be named the best in their year before ranking up. While that hadn’t happened, he was truly honored to be chosen to be a spirit key guardian. This was a chance to show his skills.

Chairman increased the security and patrols around the island. Things were serious even a Curfew was announced, all students were to be in their dorms before sundown. ‘Crowler is making this too easy.’ Syrus thought. He wasn’t worried about Jaden.

The teachers were tasked with patrolling the dorms at night, leaving the security teams able to sweep the island. Jessie was given special permission to be out at night so long as he was with Raphael. “What’s troubling you?” The two were paroling around the Red Dorm.

“I dunno, it’s weird, it’s like I’ve had this feeling something is wrong but can’t put my finger on it.” Raphael chuckled at Jessie’s words.

“You are a smart young man, you need to trust your instincts. I failed to do that and it almost cost me dearly.” Jessie nodded.

He wanted to believe in himself, but he also wanted to believe in those around him. Duel Academy is an odd place, where weird things happen. It was hard to tell what was the normal weird or the dangerous kind.

The security team combed through the forest, unknowingly tripping Jaden’s security system. “Looks like we have guests.” He had simple threads scattered around the perimeter to alert him of company. “My dino, it is time to hunt!”

Hassleberry rose to his feet, despite the short time together he had changed, he was even taller and more muscular. He kept his hair down and wild, and wore his bandana. Around his neck was a spiked collar, it was black like the rest of his new outfit.

Black ripped sleeve vest, showing off his thick arms, beefy pecs, and rock hard abs. The pants were a work of art, army style, black with the crotch cut out, allowing his cock and balls to hang free, there was also a heart shaped cut out of his rear exposing his juicy rear. Hassleberry left the abandoned dorm and the hunt began.

As the security team moved through the forest they had no idea they had become the hunted. One of the guards heard a strange noise. “What was that?” He shined his flashlight but didn’t see anything.

“I’ll cover you check it out!” The man got in close with his partner watching his tail. As the first agent moved forward, he saw a pair of golden eyes before he was hauled into the foliage. “Oi!”

The partner ran up but saw nothing. “Alert alert, Beta Team has been compromised, something just pulled my partner away!” Some rustling was heard. He whipped around and he caught nothing in his flashlight.

“AAHH!” The guard rushed towards the scream, but before he could find his partner he was tackled from the side. Tyranno knocked out the man and dragged him off.

Hearing the call of the radio the agents began to move. The first scream wasn’t heard, but they sure heard the second.

One of the men ran just a little slower than another and Tyranno pounced on him and they were gone. The guard didn’t look back and wasn’t aware he was alone until he met up with another team. “Where’s your partner?” He looked back and saw only darkness.

“What?” Some rustling was heard. “What the heck is going on?” Three of their best men were taken out already.

“Alert, we need back up, there is something in the forest!” The soldiers armed themselves with batons but it did them no good.

Tyranno was a prehistoric predator.

As soon as they took their eyes off him, he struck, pouncing, grabbing, and hauling off. By the time the other two realized what happened there was just rustling leaves. “AAHH!” Oh and a scream.

The remaining two gave chase, with the other two teams joining the party. “Circle up, permission to use force is granted!” Chaiman told them.

“Yes Ma’am!” They traded their batons for some stun rods.

The group circled up, eyes trying to find the source of the trouble. One of the men spotted a pair of golden eyes peering out from the darkness. “There he is!” He charged at the creature.

“Wait don’t break formation!” It was too late, the figure dodged before lunging forward and caught the guy, dragging him into the darkness. “Damn it!”

“AHHH!” His scream rang out.

They were being hunted, picked off one by one. “Alert, Alert, security members down. Please respond!” She expected someone to respond but heard static. “Why can’t we get through?”

The short range communication was working but not long range. “Bzzt bzzt!”

“Yes hello please respond, we got an unknown enemy, we need back up!”

“Sorry...but that won’t be happening.” Jaden’s voice came over the line.

“Who is this?”

“You can call me the Spider Rider. My pet has been dealing with your men as you’ve entered my territory.” He was also jamming their signals.

“Your pet?! Call it off!” They heard some rustling around them, whatever it was...moved fast. “You are trespassing, you are under arrest.”

“I was invited, you lot are the trespassers here, no key no duel disk, no interest!” Jaden smirked. “I’ll leave the lot of you to my pet, good luck!” The device sparked forcing her to drop it.

“He’s toying with us!”

“We need to get back and report, we know one thing we got close to this guy’s hideout, there’s only one place he could be hiding. The Abandoned Dorm!”

They needed to relay this info and unleash a full assault on the dorm. “Strategic Withdraw Boys, let’s move one of us has to make it!” She declared.

The guards made a run for it. Hassleberry made a move, picking them off, their screams rattling their core. One of the guards tripped on a tree root and that was it for him.

One tried to stand his ground and got pounced on and dragged off into the night. Soon the guards were down to the last two. Chairman was a skilled fighter but she really shouldn’t have been running in the woods with heels. A stumble came. “Captain!”

“Go, I’ll hold it off!” She cranked the stun rod up to max.

Unlike the others she actually got a look at the “pet” before she was knocked out, her weapon busted. She also fell to Hassleberry.

The last guard ran like a bat out of heck. ‘I’m gonna make it...I’m gonna make it…’ He made it to the edge of the forest and stopped. “I made it...haha...I made it!” Yellow eyes peered through the dark behind him.

He saw Raphael and Jessie patrolling. “Oi!” He called out. “GAH!” He was hauled back into the forest.

“Did you hear something?” Jessie asked.

“I didn’t, but it’s getting late we should turn in.”

Jaden was brought the soldiers and removed their memories. “You did well pet, now can you bring me a key guardian?”

“Yes master!” Tyranno knew the perfect target. Bastion Misawa!
