Chapter 5 Titania Returns

While flying back would be faster, they decided to walk balk and spend more time together. “So are you guys dating now?” Sammy asked.

“I uh well…” Elfman twiddled his fingers. ‘Not like I’ve ever dated anyone before.’ He was focused on training and getting stronger.

“I’d say yes, Igneel would call it courting.” Natsu crossed his arms. “Hmm, well maybe that isn’t right either, Igneel said courting is to get to know each other, but we know each other pretty well.” It was true they’ve grown up together.

“That’s why we work so well together!” The two shared a fist bump.

“Right!” Natsu smiled.

“You just need to understand each other romantically.” Sammy pointed out.

“I’ve never dated or courted anyone before, but Igneel told me not to overthink it and follow my instincts.”

“I can do that!” Elfman offered his hand and Natsu took it.

‘They LIIIIKE each other!’ Sammy thought happily.

“Igneel is pretty smart what else did he teach you about courting and mating?” They set up camp and had some food and Natsu filled them in.

“Igneel taught me how dragons mate, each mate is treated as a treasure, the stronger the dragon the more treasures they had. A dragon loves and cares for each treasure, it may be a different type, size, or shape, but none of that changes how important the treasure is to the dragon.” Natsu explained. He confessed he didn’t really understand what Igneel meant, but he was starting to understand. “He told me dragons didn’t just take just any treasure/mate, some treasure might look fancy or expensive but is hollow inside. He said I’d understand one day that I’d find my mates when the time is right, they’d light a fire in my heart, and be special in their own ways.”

Natsu smiled. “I think I understand it now, Elfman you are really special to me, so I want you to be my mate.” Strauss blushed.

“So, you’d want to mate other guys?” He wasn’t too sure of himself, and he was doing his best to process this information.

“Would that be a problem?”

“I...don’t know…” He tried thinking about it. His initial thought was of Gray, as the fire and ice wizard butted heads from time to time.

‘Oh Gray, you are so sexy.’ Fantasy Natsu groped Gray’s pecs, while grinding his erection against his ass.

‘Natsu, melt my insides!’ Fantasy Gray moaned.

‘So manly...so hot…’ Elfman blushed.

“Even if I did take someone else as a mate, that wouldn’t mean I was replacing you. It’d just be making our family bigger. As first mate you’d have the option of joining in and playing with our mates.” That bit of information flooded Elfman’s mind with thoughts, he overloaded and got a nosebleed. “Are you okay?”

“I’m...I’m fine…” He twitched.

“Are harems that big of a deal?” Sammy adjusted his glasses.

“Harems are rare but not uncommon, powerful wizards often have multiple lovers. It’s even encouraged for wizards to have at least two wives in the hopes of having powerful children. Literature on the subject is vast and varied, some stories even promote or claim to be a harem but fail to stick the landing ending up as romantic comedies/dramas with too many love interests.” It was often that or the writing was terrible with the love interests having no character and just being there for fanservice. “Frankly I feel most harems lose their harem title if they make up excuses as to why the characters can’t be together or wasting time trying to choose one.”

Natsu stared at Sammy.

He blushed. “I may have done some research into the subject, for reasons.”

“Well I can only go by what Igneel taught me and how I feel in my heart.”

Elfman thought about it, and Natsu was a powerful wizard. ‘He’s so manly and strong, he could have anyone he wanted, and...he wants me!’ His heart fluttered. “A harem of manly men sounds good to me!” Elfman declared.

The male Strauss didn’t over think it. He trusted Natsu with his life and more. Plus there was the fact it took him all this time to realize his feelings for Natsu, who was to say he wouldn’t find room in his heart for another. ‘There’s nothing wrong with men bonding and growing closer together after all.’ The more he thought about the more excited he became.

“Are there any other guys you’d be interested in? We do have some real men in our guild.”

“Hmm, I haven’t really thought about it of course, but mating in the guild might be better.” Natsu pondered.

“Laxus might be too much, he’s quite strong but he can be dangerous. Fried and Bickslow are loyal to Laxus. While they might be good mates on a power stance, romantically dealing with them could be problematic.” Sammy shared surprising the two men. “Jet and Droy are obsessed with Levy, they might not be into men. The same could be said of Alzack, he has a crush on Bisca but who knows.”

Sammy had a notebook. “Then there is Gray, but I’d have guessed you two would go together like...well...fire and ice.”

“Hmm, Gray huh?”

“You two have always been at it.” Since they were kids, Gray Fullbuster has stood as Natsu’s “rival”. While Dragneel and Elfman had sparring and training sessions together, the fire and ice wizards clashed every week or so. Truth was the pinkette had always beaten Fullbuster, sometimes even without his transformation.

“Hmm, while Gray is...okay...truth is I don’t think he’d want me that way.” Natsu sighed. “I’m pretty sure he hates me.”

Elfman and Sammy weren’t sure that was the case. “I dunno, if he hated you would he keep challenging you?” He crossed his arms in thought.

“Gray could be stubborn but I don’t think he would continue this rivalry if he truly disliked you.” Elfman nodded. He knew Gray wasn’t that type of man, there wasn’t a member of Fairy Tail he HATED, while the two butted heads

“You think?” Natsu rested his chin on his palm. “Well, something to think about. I’m more focused on us.”

“There is another potential mate.” Sammy suggested with a blush. “I may not be super strong, but I’d like the chance if possible.”

“Despite your size, you got a man’s heart!” Sammy growled at Elfman’s words. He transformed.

“I am a man, I’m just compact!”

Natsu chuckled. “Well you are precious to me Sammy, but before I even think of taking on another mate. I first wish to claim Elfman.” The muscled wizard blushed.

“So I have a chance?” Natsu nodded. “Yahoo!”

Gray was not expecting to bump into Team Beast King. The ice wizard overheard their conversation. ‘Natsu wants a harem...he thinks I hate him...he’s dating Elfman…?’ He knew they just formed a team but dating?

Truth was he didn’t hate Natsu, he picked fights with him so the pinkette would look his way. In his opinion Natsu was strong enough to stand with the likes of Erza and Laxus. ‘He’s just so strong...I can’t...I want to keep up!’ He was jealous of Elfman who had gained Natsu’s favor and focus.

It was his own pride that kept him from talking to Natsu like a normal person and just telling him how he felt. Not that he hadn’t made strides in his own right. He got more and more in touch with his ice magic, embracing the cold and becoming a nudist.

He bought a pair of speedos to wear while on missions and dealing with clients. His bad habit of stripping off his clothes, others saw him as a joke or a pervert. Natsu once told him when they were kids, he didn’t see a problem with nudity, dragons were naked all the time. If he felt more comfortable out of clothes then nothing anyone says should shake him from that, if he was doing his job or fighting for others there was no shame in wanting to be free and naked.

His master Ur had also spoken of freedom in maker magic. Little by little he started wearing less and less. He got more in touch with his ice make magic, and he was building on his magic power.

‘I’ll get stronger!’ For his master, for his guild, and for himself.

He wasn’t planning on revealing himself, but some bandits attacked Natsu’s group and made off with Sammy. Dragneel accidentally jumped on Gray thinking he was one of the bandits. “Oh it’s you Gray!” He got off the mostly naked ice wizard.

“What are you doing here?” Elfman asked.

“I was just coming back from a mission.”

“Those jerks took Sammy, they are gonna pay!” Natsu didn’t even wait he transformed and took to the air.

The bandits didn’t know who they were messing with, as soon as their backs were turned Sammy transformed. “You wanted to eat me! Big mistake!”

“Get him!” The bandits were run aways from a dark guild so they were packing some evil magic. They didn’t know Sammy had powers or they’d have use magic sealing rope.

The commotion brought the others. “What the hell is that?!” They gasped seeing Natsu in all his dragonoid glory.

“You shouldn’t have attacked us, you are toast!” They didn’t stand a chance.

The magic binding rope was used to keep them out of trouble. “Lu...Lullaby…”

“What’s that?”

“Our boss...he’s crazy...he wants Lullaby...from the book of Zeref…” Before they could say more a shadow hand stretched across the ground and pulled them under.

“What the hell?”

“I thought they were bound with anti magic ropes!” Elfman gasped.

“They were, someone else rescued them.” Gray said.

“From the looks of it, that was shadow magic.” Sammy analyzed. “Whoever it was is long gone.”

“Zeref…” Natsu whispered. To the world he was a dark wizard, but to him...he was his brother. ‘Lullaby...my brother’s failed experiment to end his curse.’ In the wrong hands it was a threat to all life.

“We need to get back home.”

“Oh that’s right, I almost forgot in all the commotion. I heard Erza’s coming home to.” Everyone tensed.

This was both good and bad. Erza was intense, downright scary. ‘I need to talk to master about Lullaby...this could be bad…’

They made it back to the guild only for Makarov to be gone. Erza arrived shortly after they did. She had a list of complaints, hearing about the recent activity lately.

“I need help on a job, we are taking on a dark guild, they are after a tool known as Lullaby!” For Erza to be asking for help was a big deal.

“We’ll help!” Natsu declared. “Elfman, Sammy, you in?”

“Right!” They declared.

“I heard you formed a team.” She looked at Elfman and Sammy. “Very well!”

“I’ll come to!” Gray said.

“Oh are you willing to work with Natsu?” Without missing a beat.

“Yes!” Fullbuster was willing to work with Dragneel that was a surprise.

“Then you are welcome to come.” There was no time to wait.

Makarov was at a conference with other guild masters, and the dark guild that was on the move had their sights set on it.
