🚀GammaOS Next enters the Android 14 era with v1.1.1 for MANGMI Air X

GammaOS Next v1.1.1 is finally here, now bringing full Android 14 and LineageOS 21 support to the MANGMI Air X. This is a major milestone for the project and I am excited to share this with all of you. (Updated to v1.1.1 on 24/11/2025 to fix the LCD issue with newer batches)

I am very happy to announce the release of GammaOS Next v1.1.1 for the MANGMI Air X. This is the first official GammaOS build running on Android 14 and it comes with a huge list of improvements. 💥 What is new in v1.1.0?

This is the first GammaOS release based on Android 14 and LineageOS 21. It includes a wide range of new features, visual improvements, performance upgrades and device specific fixes for the MANGMI Air X.

Core System and Base

• Android 14 and LineageOS 21 with significant modern improvements

• Reduced background overhead and faster system responsiveness

• Updated security and graphics pipelines

Advanced Visual Features

• Global Shaders: CRT Simple and LCD3x are now included at a system level

• Full shader configuration from a long press on the Shader tile

• High DPI scaling and rotation behavior handled automatically

GammaRGB Joystick LEDs

• New effect modes, color formats and brightness controls

• Long press the RGB tile to access advanced LED options

• Better color accuracy and more reliable LED triggering

Improved Navigation and UI

• Immersive Mode enabled by default for a console like experience

• Taskbar and status bar are hidden until swiped from an edge

• Fix for the task switcher not responding to touch

Audio and Performance

• GammaEQ backend added to improve audio control (UI coming soon)

• Fast mixer integration for lower latency

• Performance tuning across multiple frameworks

Device Specific Fixes for MANGMI Air X

• Updated graphics driver to the 2025 revision (stock is 2024)

• Fixed Netflix DRM so playback and Netflix based games work correctly

• Corrected panel behavior to run at a stable 60 Hz

• Optimized CPU governor and thermal behavior

• Smoother animations and reduced micro stutter

• Better overall performance on both Full and Lite editions

🔥 Recommendation

For the best experience, I strongly suggest using the *GammaOS Lite* version. It removes Google services and delivers higher performance, smoother framerates and better battery life.
