Opinions on Koikatsu? And general updates on what has been happening!

I have been busy with a part time job and learning Koikatsu since I finished 1.04, ever since losing the artist I had been commissioning from I had been thinking of alternatives. First I spent a good while looking for one but- since that was the only femdom-style NSFW style on Fiverr that I could find I had to look elsewhere but I really couldn't find anything that fit and was affordable for me. If I start doing more and more renders I could actually put out content without paying for anything besides Itch tilesets and plugins!
Although..
I'm not sure how many people were really attached to the 2d style?? I'm sure a few people definitely preferred the 2d style (Honestly myself included.) but this would be much easier and less stressful for me. It may be more work but I don't have to wait on anything as well? I just want to hear peoples opinions. Please comment on this one with your feelings.
One more BIG thing though... Switching up styles mid game is usually really bad feeling for the player, and that applies to 2d to a different 2d style as well.. 2d to 3d feels much worse in game.. So I may be holding some important polls for the future of Crystal Desires and a potential future project!

I get the art change comment. I had a falling out with the previous artist and needed to have the game in one style without a random switch up in the middle. I learned Koikatsu and figured out all I needed to continue working on this game as I wasn’t done with it story wise, personally I preferred the 2d art as well but this is just what needed to be done to actually continue making the game with new art. There is also the money discussion because I have been spending most of my income on the art before soooooooooo- just a lot of factors :0 (this is a response to a previous comment saying about the same thing, just don’t wanna retype everything again) But I do agree I preferred the 2d style as well

2025-05-19 06:31:38 +0000 UTCI’ll keep character design in mind :) the most difficult thing so far about being unique is the clothing options from what I’ve seen, there’s not a ton that look natural and I don’t want to reuse a ton of them, I’ll look into it though!

2025-04-21 19:42:31 +0000 UTCWhatever allows you do things to your liking, but please consider putting a bit more into character designs than generic koikatsu characters that many devs do. Chika looking characters (the default character) with just different hair/colors/outfits swapped would be a waste for your game, as I love that you're not just doing a generic sadism trope for femdom, unlike many other games do.
