The two of you continue to press on and go past the campsite and deeper into the ruins. "I'm starting to feel like the corruption of this place has twisted the location of these ruins," the Tabaxi said, looking around at the hallways and the jagged stone that had started to push out from it. "Also means we're getting closer to the source of this whole thing, which means we can dispell it and grab the treasure down here."
When the two of you get to another room you a greeted with a disturbing site; two statues of demons were on the other side of a room covered in shadows. The only light were the purple flames of the braziers that were next to the altars. As soon as you start to step forward your senses trigger and you realize that the corruption of the shadows was intense. The second that you back away you find that the darkness had been reaching out towards you until you were fully back in the light.
Nyte suggests the torches but as soon as you reach in with it the magic of the flame goes out, an impressive trick to be sure as you pull it back and it springs to life once more. The two of you scratch your heads and then take stock of your inventory, figuring out that you may have something that could help. The catfolk pulls out a disk with the mark of a campfire on it and you're both bathed in a divine light, and when you hold it out it banishes the darkness in a small radius. Even as you pull it back however you see the light begin to flicker as the shadows seemed to attack it.
"You're probably going to have enough time to search one of them," Nyte said as he looked up at you. "What should we do?"
