CYOA - Potential retooling
Added 2020-04-24 14:26:15 +0000 UTCSo after doing a few modules with the current CYOA and seeing that they don't take too long to produce (maybe an hour or so) I'm thinking about changing up the structure a bit. Instead of having it where there's a staggered release of game updates for the tiers instead I could create different pathing for different tiers instead. The $10 and up would get updated the most, the $5 moderately updated and the $3 maybe once or twice. For those in the $25 tier you will get special voting for things like the type of encounter or means of TF. So for example:
$10 tier votes first to continue the dragonborn/tabaxi companion storyline, their pathing updates 2-3/week and gets to vote on what parts get completed.
$5 tier votes to continue the tiefling/dragonborn companion storyline, their pathing updates 1/week and gets to vote on what parts get completed.
$3 tier votes to update the number of companions that are available, gets a poll once every two weeks and decides to add in the drow elf and half-orc companions to be available next month.
Along the way one of the storylines hits a bad end and $25 tier gets to determine whether they run afoul of a plant monster, goo creature, or werewolf.
Once the month is over they get put into the CYOA and publicly released.
This would replace the staggered release of the CYOA, meaning no codes or anything would be involved since those in their respective tiers would see the modules as they're being created.
This is just an idea so far and still thinking about things. This is a new concept so obviously will have to experiment to see what would work best., and if this turns out to be a big draw then more time/resources may be put into more implementation of these. Any changes will be implemented in May since we're getting close to the end of April here. Comments appreciated.
