🎉 Exciting Update: GammaOS Core Beta 2.5 with Miyoo Flip Support! 🎉
Added 2025-01-11 20:09:11 +0000 UTCHey everyone!
I’m excited to share a follow-up to the GammaOS Core Beta 2 release—I've added support for another amazing device: Miyoo Flip! With this update, GammaOS Core continues to expand its versatility and deliver the same quality experience you’ve come to expect, now tailored specifically for the Miyoo Flip.
This release also includes additional features, refinements, and performance improvements that make GammaOS Core even better.
💥 What’s New in Beta 2.5?
Miyoo Flip Support:
Dual boot functionality via a custom Gamma Bootloader Installer.
Fully supports the Miyoo Flip’s hardware, including lid-based sleep and resume functionality.
Vibration Support: Now enabled across supported devices!
Memory Management Improvements: Reduced the frequency of minor freezes during optimization.
WebView Enabled by Default: Can still be toggled off in Settings > System > GammaOS Core Tweaks.
All the features and improvements from Beta 2 remain, including performance boosts, Daijisho as the default launcher, and enhanced Scoped Storage access.
📥 How to Install on Miyoo Flip
Download the GammaLoaderMiyooFlip.zip package from the release page.
Extract the contents to the root of a FAT32-formatted SD card.
Insert this SD card into the left SD card slot (next to the volume buttons).
On your Miyoo Flip, go to Apps and open the Gamma Bootloader Installer application.
Follow the on-screen instructions. The device will reboot several times during installation.
Once installation is complete, you can use your GammaOS Core SD card!

[GammaOS Beta 3] ANALOG STICKS DON'T WORK This was mentioned earlier, but there was no response, so I'm assuming that very few people actually know that Beta 3 on the Miyoo Flip is absolutely broken for this reason.

2025-02-22 20:54:10 +0000 UTCThat seems really unusual! Could you try running this benchmark and tell me what scores you get? You may need to use mouse mode and in advanced settings, benchmark 0.5GB. For reference, I get 40MB write, 60MB read https://maxim-saplin.github.io/cpdt_results/?about=

2025-02-22 20:53:38 +0000 UTCHi Gamma, I got gammasos beta 3 to run on my flip! Though it seems more sluggish than your video, did I do something wrong? I used a SanDisk extreme A2 64gb SD card to run it.

2025-02-22 13:35:58 +0000 UTCSeconding this question. I tried the windows setup from the GitHub guide using SDDiskTool (and alternative flashing guide from YouTube). Machine used was an old Dell Inspiron 15 running Windows 8, fwiw. Using SDDiskTool with the built-in SD card reader gave MBR permissions errors, and using the SD card thumb drive adapter included with the Flip caused the partitioning error that another commenter mentioned. ETA: Just found the written RKDevTool guide, I feel dumb lol. Gonna try that now but still, being able to setup on Mac would be legendary Update: Got as far as step 3 with RKDevTool, but the log output gets stuck at "Wait for loader success," and doesn't show any "Downloading firmware" status. Assuming this was a minor difference, I proceeded to step 4. Clicking "Go Maskrom" causes both my Flip and my computer to crash, requiring a manual reboot of the Flip using the stock card (i.e., back to step 1)

2025-02-06 15:16:45 +0000 UTCHey Gamma, Great work, was looking forward to get my hands on the Miyoo Flip & start tinkering with this. However hit a wall when saw the steps for formatting the SD card since I do not own a Windows machine Regarding the alternative method with RKDevTool, was searching for an alternative & found this so far regarding macOS/Linux: - https://wiki.radxa.com/Rock5/install/rockchip-flash-tools On their site as an alternative they offer a CLI tool, I've built it from source on macOS, however do not know how to utilize it for creating the bootable SD card. - https://docs.vicharak.in/vaaman-linux/linux-usage-guide/rockchip-develop-guide/ They documented that Linux Upgrade Tool is the closed-source CLI tool from Rockchip meant for this purpose. - https://github.com/Jerzha/RKDevelopToolGUI Alternative tool, looks forgotten. Any guidance on how can I experiment with these tools will be much appreciated. Thanks for the great work done so far!

2025-02-03 12:48:31 +0000 UTCHi all, to confirm there are no OTA updates for beta builds. If you are having trouble with flashing your SD card, try this guide instead https://github.com/TheGammaSqueeze/GammaOSCore/wiki/Flashing-GammaOS-Core-with-Rockchip-RKDevTool-(WINDOWS-ONLY)

2025-01-29 18:54:48 +0000 UTCI succesfully downloaded the loader app, and then flashed the img file to an SD card, but whenever I try loading it on the flip. I get the initial code execution screen followed by a screen with a circle saying "Deleting" is this normal?

2025-01-29 17:04:51 +0000 UTCCan I still use the stock SD card to use the original Miyoo OS?

2025-01-20 19:59:02 +0000 UTCHey, thanks for creating such a well finished product. I managed to install it fine on my Flip. However the analogue sticks don't work in any game, like N64, PSX and PSP. What's the best way to get them working?

2025-01-19 05:48:42 +0000 UTCHi, thank you so much for this OS! I was really looking forward to removing the stockOS from the Miyoo Flip which is really terrible! But now, having this version, will we receive the next updates via OTA? Even if we no longer have Patreon?

2025-01-18 15:14:42 +0000 UTCDisk tool keeps creating about a dozen partitions on my A2 SD which open error windows as soon as it finishes. If I use the card in the flip it will just show a glowing circle saying "erasing". Then after more tries getting a cache error. Then into an android recovery screen.
