I've noticed that every time I through something away and start over I'm always happier with the final result, so I'm never shy about discarding a page in progress and just starting over completely fresh!
Sometimes something doesn't feel quite right, or a figure looks too high on the page or a panel seems to be taking up too much room, or not enough. Each new iteration helps me get rid of something I don't like about the page and eventually I'm left with something I do like! ^^
