Mid WIP Preview for September : ARX RENOVATUR ( Citadel Renewed) : Commercial Printers Cut and Rebuild
Added 2023-08-16 18:17:05 +0000 UTCWe have a palette cleanser coming for the next couple months. The model will be inspired by our early 2019 Citadel kickstarter model. It is a total redo that will blend the best parts of Citadel, Two-Foot Tower, and Hauntwoods Scriptorium. Many aspects of the later project actually started as an attempt to reverse engineer tower variations into the original citadel walls.
The original citadel is a quirky fantasy set of walls, to this day there are many very original features on the model that I still enjoy. The original main gate is still one of my favorite designs. However it was designed for customization and the avid 3D hobbyist. In retrospect, it became apparent the complex set was difficult to navigate for commercial printers and casual builders.
Right now we have corners and straight sections, The main gate is mid WIP but is looking to come in around 10x16 inches. I've had to test as I go along so things are in a good spot right now. These are the features so far.
- All elements fully reconstructed
- Even deeper and longer walk ways and walls
- Massively simplified cuts and assembly
- More Architecturally Realistic
- Finer detail masonry
- 2 wall face variations
- Statue and Non-statue wall options
- Full Battlement
- Full Round Towers with stair access
- Double Tower Gate House with Double Portcullis and Murder Holes
I have my own notions of things to add but please feel free to list feature request in the comments. I'm also considering doing a full ruined version. Thanks for stopping in to see the progress:)

I'll work on breaches and kick around building inserts for november. at the least I'll do some wall structures or walls with stuctures built in If I can't figure out a reliable insert method
