Ever since I got my ipad last year I've been trying to make procreate brushes that fit my very specific preferences and painterly art style. I love medium brushes and while I do use soft and hard brushes when needed, the majority of my work is done with a medium opacity modified chalk brush in photoshop.
I wanted consistency between programs and I just couldn't get the same look in procreate no matter how hard I tried. I've made so many brushes that I don't really like. That's why I was so excited for procreate 5 to come out, because I could finally import my main brush from PS.
Sketching felt nice enough at first and I even posted how happy I was on twitter, but once I tried to paint with it I realized it was nothing like my other brush. I moped about it in silence for the last month until I finally decided that I would try to recreate the brush myself no matter how long it took. It won't be perfect, but hopefully it can give me the consistency I've been struggling to find.

This is where I'm at currently! The texture is already very close, but the pressure sensitivity and the way the brush tapers on the ends are vastly different between the two. The brush also doesn't build up the same as it does in photoshop and it's a lot softer than I prefer so I'm going to keep messing with the settings until I can't get it any closer. I'll post them once I do in case anyone wants to try them out.
For now I'm uploading a small set of brushes I made that I like but that aren't suited to my tastes. I shared the soft pencil before, and I might use the squared brush and the grain wash at some point too. You can make the wash brush bigger to cover the whole canvas in grain (which is what I made it for) They aren't perfect and I may update them at a later date, but for now please enjoy them, and if you use them then I would love to know what you think!
