Services for James McCann Jr.

I want to take a moment to acknowledge the sudden passing of James R McCann Jr. . Some of you may know him from the Facebook or Kickstarter boards but more notably he ran haldanecreations.com . He was a huge supporter of 3D printing for gaming and an early adapter in the 3D-print-for-sale marketplace. More importantly, he was an extremely easy person to want to be friends with and will be missed by many. In this last year he had temporarily closed Haldane Creations to take a job creating a huge print farm in the american southwest. I am sad for his family that he spent so much of his last year away from his home in Virginia.

For me personally, he helped greatly in the early years 2016-17 (which is like 20 years ago in 3d modeling time). He was a huge cheerleader and offered me a lot of his insight for my early endeavors. He also turned a buck selling a ton of our early large forts at a time when few were selling our designs.

James McCann Jr., for my part I count you as a friend and am grateful for the brief time I knew you in this world. I have links for funeral info and a funeral fund for anyone here who knew James and need to pass on any condolences to the family.

UPDATE 4/12/21

James had his obituary published today. It reads simply this:

"If you knew and loved James, you'd understand the humor behind his only wish being that his obituary says 'Fuck this. I never wanted any of this crap anyways.' "

Thanks for sharing. His passing hits the tabletop and 3D printing communities very hard.
