If you do this again I say forget the smogon stuff and just go off of your personal experience because one has nothing to do with the other especially since you're not THAT TYPE of competitive player and I think unofficial smogon already has enough influence on that crowd even though it's different than VGC.

Honestly, it's really interesting how you can see the design philosophy shift just with the 3 "bee" lines...... Beedrill is very intimidating, very Insect, then Combee/Vespiqueen strike a balance between cute and sleek/cool, and then Cutiefly/Ribombee lean hard into that Cutesy factory, very soft roundness and big ol sparkly eyes.
