2024-07-10 01:52:23 +0000 UTCYea, definitely possible to get it as a gift or redeem a key. Some devs provide keys when you subscribe to a certain tier or buy the game on itch.io. I've always been able to redeem them so far. Gifts also work, but the problem is that you have to find someone who is willing to gift the game to you. I have done this with other games via a black market forum and had to pay a few € extra. And of course there's always the risk of being scammed.
