"Texting with... Jessica" pt. 1

Jessica: What are you up to?

Jessica? I don’t have her on the schedule. What is she reaching out to me for?

You: I’m sitting in the car waiting for a couple clients to return.

Jessica: Taking them to and from?

You: No, just to. It’s a couple in their late 60’s. They had already come out to the car, but the woman has forgotten something back in their apartment twice now. It’s been 10 minutes since the last time they walked off and I haven’t heard back from them.

Jessica: I dislike waiting for people.

You: At least I get paid for it.

Jessica: If you’re late for something, you’re either disrespectful, or you’re poor at managing a schedule. Either is unacceptable.

You: You’ve never been late for something?

Jessica: If I’ve ever been late, there was a good reason or it was to prove a point.

You: What if someone tries to prove a point with you?

Jessica: That would be a mistake.

You: Don’t be late picking up Jessica, got it.

I get another buzz from my phone, but this time it’s from one of the riders.

Old Man We’re on our way back down. Sorry Mr.

You: It’s okay.

I leave it at that. No need to mention the extra fee they’ll get for the wait. I’m sure they’ll figure that out later. I return my attention to Jessica.

You: Looks like the people I’m waiting on are on their way back.

Jessica: I’ll text you later.

You: Sounds good.

My morning ends up picking up pace and I don’t get a chance to check my phone again until about one-thirty in the afternoon.

Jessica: Remember when I said I hated waiting on people?😡

You: This morning? Yeah.

You: Who’s fucked up now? I didn’t miss something did I?

Jessica: Not you. I wouldn’t be talking to you if you had forgotten to meet up with me.

Jessica: Natalie. We have a massage class at 2 and she’s late.

You: That seems unlike her to leave you waiting. Did something happen?

Jessica: Not between us, no. She said there was an accident and traffic was backed up. But that was half an hour ago and now we’re going to be late.

You: Are you meeting at the place? Maybe you could just go in and hopefully she shows up before it’s over.

Jessica: Trust me I’ve considered it. But no, we’re not meeting outside of the place.

Jessica: I’m at my place. We were going to meet here and jog over there.

You: How far of a jog is it?

Jessica: About four miles each way.

You: That’s a decent jog. Is it leg day?

Jessica: No, leg day is Sunday. Today’s more of a midweek warm up.

You: Well, hopefully Natalie won’t be much longer.

Jessica: I certainly hope so.

You: Why did you text me today? I thought you didn’t hire me for companionship.

Jessica: I hired you to do whatever it is I ask of you. All that money doesn’t come with some strings attached.

You: So what does that make you? The puppeteer while I’m the puppet?

Jessica: Perhaps if you play your role nicely you’ll end up as a real boy… Or a real man.

I get a notification for another rider.

You: Looks like I’ve got another one. I’ll hit you up in a bit.

It’s a quick one. We get lucky with the lights and I’ve got him picked up and dropped off within 20 minutes.

You: Did Natalie end up showing up in time?

Jessica: We just got in a few minutes ago. We’re late, but they let us in anyway. Getting dressed down as we speak.

You: So the two jungle cats made it in time for their pampering.

You: Did traffic clear up or did you guys change the running plan?

Jessica: Jungle cats that would eat you for lunch if we wanted to.

Jessica: If anything we doubled down on the running plan. The crazy broad got tired of not moving in traffic and decided to get out and run the rest of the way to my place.

You: What, really? She ran to your place? How far was that?

Jessica: Another two and a half miles. 🏃🏼‍♀️ Leg day is in three days! She’s going to regret this.

Jessica: You should have seen her. Already working up a sweat, didn't want to stop and talk for a moment. She just wanted to keep going until we got here.

You: That sounds like Natallie.

You: Well at least you’re getting a massage after all the running.

Jessica: Don’t forget we’re running back too.

You: Right. Not one to change plans, are we?

Jessica: I plan for a reason. It would do people well to stick with it.

You: I doubt it was Natallie’s intention to hold you up.

Jessica: No, it wasn’t. Which is why I’m letting her off easy. This time.

You: Well I hope your massage goes well.

Jessica: It should. Jedamine is working today.

You: Jedamine?

Jessica: Eastern European I think. I’m not sure. What I know is his hands are thick and they really dig into the body. All your stresses melt away when you're in his hands.

You: I’ll take your word for it. What are you getting massaged? Your backs, or is it like full body?

Jessica: Asses. Which is sorely needed now. We need to work out the knots before leg day.

Jessica: Tell me, are you an ass man or a tits kind of guy?
