VTTES now has a fully-featured userscript version available!

Caveat:

Info

The Chrome store hasn't been kind to us so I've put the time into making a userscript for Tampermonkey. The benefits of this are:

Hopefully this will make things easier for anybody using Chrome!

Feel free to share it with anybody you play with.

Thank you for all the support!

Doesn't seem to work. I'm still just seeing the normal roll20.

Yonael Blackwood

Hello, I use 2014 character sheed but the script fails. Any ideas ?

doruk durak

I'm completely lost. Does this let me import from 5e.tools into Roll20? That is what I am trying to do. Is there a better guide besides the three steps above?

ioNetrunner

The direct video stream option no longer works T_T Now, no matter what DVS link I put it writes that it's "not a direct video stream"

Oh, and a specific note of appreciation: thank you for populating the extension settings export file name with the date and time of the export. I just noticed this today while checking out the Tampermonkey script. It's one of those small but crucial quality-of-life aspects that every similar export function should have (but surprisingly few do in my professional life) and it shows the care you've put into this project.

Night Blow, An Afterdark Campaign

Thank you for your work on this extension. No matter what the future brings for you, VTTES is still helping me out daily.

Night Blow, An Afterdark Campaign

One can only hope...thx again!

We'll see! Currently the new UI is not something we're going to cover until Roll20 calls it done. And maybe the new map nesting will be good enough that we won't have to make adjustments to it 😅

Justas Dabrila

Hey Justas...many thanks for keeping this going. Just wondering if you'll be able to accommodate the upcoming Map nesting folders with a future update to VTTES

Martin Moran

seem like its the new door feature that messes with the suite. with your latest update that functionality is not displaying properly. It still make the door, but hides the interface.

Elder Tim

Thanks

Elder Tim

seems like you fixed it with the latest update but now the door and window thing isn't work but that is way better :)

Elder Tim

That's a known opacity bug. I'm looking into it but unfortunately it's a case of trying to find a needle in a haystack :(. Unsure if there'll be a fix!

Justas Dabrila

When will the next update be out? the VTTES for Roll20 lighting is broken and has been for a while now.

Elder Tim

i love this extension. it's great!

If you've had the extension installed previously AND you have modified the VTTES settings AND you want to transfer those settings to the userscript, you'll have to navigate to the Roll20 Settings sidebar tab in the Roll20 Editor, Click on VTTES Settings, then in the settings dialog that just appeared, press the 'Export Settings' button. It'll download a file that saves the VTTES settings. Now you can disable the extension and install the userscript via Tampermonkey. After that is done, load into the Roll20 editor, navigate to the VTTES Settings dialog again and open it. This time, press 'Import Settings' and select the settings file that was previously downloaded. That's it! Let me know if this helps.

Justas Dabrila

Could you be a bit more explicit on how to do this'? I'm a bit stuck here: Extension settings will not carry over to the userscript (and vice versa). You'll have to manually export and import them by entering the VTTES Settings menu and clicking the Import/Export settings button in the lower left.

Patrick Magnus

Awesome! I saw this feature in the non-patreon version of VTTES and decided to become a patreon. Just wondering, what is the difference between the Userscript version and the google store verision?

Sebastiaan Croes

I love this! Thank you so much!

Grymhild

Sorry meant to updatr it was my better20 that needed update

Jonathan Reese

I'm not sure what you mean. The VTTES character importer dialog is still present in the Journal side bar tab.

Justas Dabrila

unfortunately since roll 20 updated the monster import option no longer shows in the settings

Jonathan Reese

wicked! Well worth doign the patreon just for this. I found firefox to be dicey (pun intended) with Roll20 and Chrome was my only choice, and updating VTT ES was a pain manually (though I did it, obviously). This method with tampermonkey seems quite nice.

Lyman Green

Just got this setup, no issues, updated to 1.25.3. Thanks for this, Justas!

Odd, what causes this then? With Tampermonkey/VTT v1.25.0 and Beyond20 v2.5.0 I get this: (bad formatting) https://i.imgur.com/ceG51tB.png But with Chrome VTT v1.25.1 and Beyond20 v2.5.0 I get this: (good formatting) https://i.imgur.com/wSpZdLk.png In the past this has been fixed by updating the VTT version, which is why I assumed it was fixed in v1.25.1 I posted this in the Discord channel as well.

Kenneth

1.25.1 is a bug fix for specifically the Chrome extension. The script and the Firefox version don't need the bug fix so they're on 1.25.0!

Justas Dabrila

Looks like the latest Chrome VTT version is 1.25.1, but the Tampermonkey script version still shows latest as 1.25.0?
