Tablecakes Productions (2018-2024)

Hi all. Because I feel like people might skip through the mid-episode “ad” but also because I wanted to create a space to field questions, I’m writing this post to announce that as of Jan. 1, Gayest Episode Ever is no longer a TableCakes Podcast. Katherine and I came to see that we had different business aims, and so we dissolved the LLC. Moving forward, GEE will exist as an even more independent podcast, but for financial reasons it will be housed under Beyond Sunset, a separate company I started during the pandemic.

This will not affect you in any significant way, I don’t think. I guess more of the money you will be donating will go to Glen and me, and Glen will be getting a larger percentage of the money than he did before, but what may affect you is the fact that Glen and I have competing concerns for our time and attention — Glen with Ninjago and me with TTOOVG — and I’m not completely sure what the release schedule will look like through the rest of the year. We will be figuring it out and then adjusting our Patreon tiers accordingly. 

I think it’s important to note that Katherine and I are still cool, and despite the “business divorce,” we’re still friends and still support each other’s creative efforts. I’m also still good with Sam, host of Monday Afternoon Movie, which has gone on indefinite hiatus. Sam may continue with it in some fashion in the future. Katherine and I decided that he can just own the whole of the podcast outright. So TBD there.

So no, you won’t be hearing the TableCakes jingle at the end of GEE anymore. I’ve asked Meika to come up with something new, and will pop it in as soon as it’s ready. I have a lot of ideas for future projects and I’m eager to devote myself to them, as heartening as it is to help other people launch their projects. I hope to have more news soon.
