“Living Dolls” (March 28, 1989)
Less a show about sentient humanoid toys than a late 80s/early 90s glimpse of teen modeling, Living Dolls sprung off from Who’s the Boss? — and what’s especially weird about this one is that it happened twice. First, Who’s the Boss? gave us a story about Samantha Micelli visiting a coven of models in New York, and then when Living Dolls debuted the following September, it told that exact same story again — with Sam as the focus, but with three of the series leads recast. It’s a really weird thing to behold.
The theme song to this series was composed and performed by Meika Grimm. The art for the series was designed by Ian O’Phelan.
