The Cartoons That Made Us Gay: Tiny Toon Adventures

“Love Disconnection” (November 25, 1991)

We’re talking about Tiny Toons because the reboot is upon us, because we’ve wanted to talk about this particularly well-animated episode forever and because it was co-written by the always great, recently late Arlene Sorkin. It’s the Tiny Toons that has Babs, Shirley, Fifi and even Elmyra all trading in their usual duds for something sexy and elegant, and it gives a level of glamor you don’t usually see on a weekday afternoon cartoon. Was this our first taste of a magical girl transformation? Quite likely!

Letting the clips run longer in this episode because this and *every* episode of Tiny Toons was scored with a 26-piece orchestra, and we want to give you the chance to hear how great it sounds.

Read the NY Times article about Steven Spielberg’s involvement with Tiny Toons.

What’s the Kennedy kick and why is it the worst?

Special thanks to Robyn for helping us get ahold of this file, since as of publish time, this episode is not streaming! That said, you can watch it on the GEE Patreon.

Watched the new Tiny Toons Looniversity, it has some textual queer. It's been fun 😊

omg, the description on the Kennedy Kick video lmao "Comments disabled due to garbage people leaving garbage comments. Don't come to my video and be disrespectful. This cute dance is one of my favorite things from the show. Don't like it? You may need a Kennedy kick to the throat."
