Behold: Sexy Fred Flintstone (also Gazoo is there)

Whelp, do to a scheduling problem, the new GEE won't be up on here until later Wednesday, but meanwhile please enjoy this Ian O'Phelan original artwork of Fred Flintstone, in all his uncropped glory.

Behold: Sexy Fred Flintstone (also Gazoo is there)

Wait, how do you mean?

Vanessa Lopez

I suddenly realised mid-listen that the Gazoo story is the main influence on the Star Trek Q story 😁.

You can’t take everything as a criticism. All I asked was where Barney was because Barney and Fred are a team. I don’t know what kind of artist Ian is, so “twice as much work“ could be a drop in the bucket for him, or it could be hours and days or weeks. I don’t know. You made a point that you think Barney is cuter than Fred and you really defended it, and yet no Barney in the picture. So I asked. You have all these readings and assumptions for this question and I feel the question was very direct. You could’ve just said you felt Fred was enough because everybody knows who Fred Flintstone is. You could’ve said that Barney was behind Fred. That would've been funny. Or that Barney got lost on the way to the photo shoot because Barney. Also funny. You could’ve said that your themes for the podcast artwork are one character (which I think is true so far) and that Gazoo doesn’t count because Gazoo. I even said his Fred is sexy, so it’s not like I had a problem with the art. There could be a million reasons why there is no Barney in the picture. All I did was ask. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.

It sounds hostile because your comment undermines the time and effort and money that goes into producing a creative thing. It is vexing to post the art, noting that it’s in lieu of the episode, which will be late because because of a huge scheduling problem, and have get this comment that implies the art isn’t enough / isn’t good / isn’t how you would have done it, especially when there’s the implicit explanation of “that would be twice as much work.” I don’t know. I want to engage, but I also feel like I’m allowed to bristle when I get a comment that seems like it’s rejecting the creative thing as not being enough.

i’m not sure what kind of day you’re having, but this answer seems rather hostile. If the actual answer is that more characters cost more money and that cost wasn't planned for, or was not within your budget for this podcast, you can say that.

We pay Ian per drawing?

Drew Mackie

But where is Barney? Barney was way cuter than Fred, although this here Fred is quite a daddy.
