Rosa Diaz Is Bi

“Game Night” (December 12, 2017)

Right off the top of the bat, we need to admit that yes, Brooklyn Nine-Nine is a show about cops. There’s no getting around that. We try our best to discuss how to weight its copaganda status against every other aspect of the show, and while we’re not going to try to sell anyone on this show, we will say that dismissing it means skipping over one of the better episodes of a sitcom ever to address bisexuality head-on. Speaking of addressing bisexuality head-on, we’re joined by Queer Quadrant co-host Brooke Solomon to discuss the Michael Schurverse, Eleanor Shellstrops on other shows and why Stephanie Beatriz is awesome.

About the “there hasn’t been a police sitcom since Barney Miller” quote. Not only did that ignore Fish Police but also the following list of shows: Pacific Station, Bakersfield PD, the Job, Arresting Behavior, Public Morals, Campus Cops &; Police Academy the Series. Now with the exception of Pacific Station; and unlike B99 and Barney Miller on all the rest of those series the cops were some combo of lazy, incompetent, alcoholic or bribe taking sociopaths. None of those shows were hits, but the ones that showed the cops as generally liberal cops that cared about the community were.

Listening now. I just want to say before I forget that I remember Rosa made a comment I think in the first season when Jake mentioned that a woman was attractive(I think a celebrity) and Rosa agreed and said she was beautiful. Obviously straight women also compliment women, but I always read the way she said it as bi.
