The Cartoons That Made Us Gay: The Legend of Zelda

“The White Knight” and “Kiss ’n‘ Tell” (September 22 and September 29, 1989)

Zelda had an animated series for all of thirteen episodes in 1989, and while most people’s memories of it amount to “Excuse me, princess,” it’s at least a better show than the Mario cartoons it was shoehorned in with in that The Legend of Zelda actually embraced the fantasy world of Hyrule and seemed to want to fill in the blanks left by Zelda 1 and Zelda 2. We’re focusing on two episodes that do more interesting things with gender than you might expect from something from the depths of DiC. They’re queer enough, we sear.

I don't know why, but I really like the idea of a backdoor podcast, though I imagine it could easily be a Norman Lear highlight podcast.

Okay, I never want Cartoons That Made Us Gay to end, but also Backdoor Pilots and Weirdest Episode Ever both sound very good.

Oh for Catherine the Great reasons?

I agree that Steve Martin is more talented than funny. Is the horse named Catherine for filthy reasons? Also, I strongly dislike Ocarina.
